Her black book is bursting with local contacts and friends, ensuring that she always delivers authentic Ibiza. A consummate professional, Louise has an impeccable reputation for discretion and confidentiality, and her fluency in Russian, English and French and Spanish has earned her a global clientele. Her local knowledge, coupled with her business acumen – having been an investment banker in New York, Russia, London and Zurich – is the reason Boo is Ibiza’s go-to trusted guide.
Louise: I read Russian and French at Bristol University, then went into Investment Banking where I trained at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in London and New York. The Russian equity market was created and I relocated to Moscow in 1996 and worked there in Equity Sales for Renaissance Capital, Troika Dialog and ING Bank Eurasia.
I then moved into Private Banking and worked in the UHNW team at Credit Suisse in Moscow and Zurich. With the sanctions imposed on Russian high net worth individuals after the crisis in the Ukraine, it was a difficult environment to onboard Russian clients. One Russian client asked me in 2015 to help him with the management of his sea front estate and yacht in Ibiza and so I moved to Ibiza. I had been visiting regularly for 20 years and knew the island well. After that, it was history and I decided to stay and set up Boo Ibiza, a real estate agency with a portfolio of luxury homes for sale and for rent.
Louise: I love the countryside in the North West of the island and rented a finca there for years in Santa Agnes de Corona. It is a peaceful valley of almond trees that blossom in February and attract visitors from all over the world. The village is unspoilt and the land is protected so it remains pretty much as it was 100 years ago. It is said that The King of Spain considers the Spanish omelette/tortilla at Can Cosmi to be the best in Spain and a walk or short drive around the picturesque valley brings you to a viewpoint called Puerto de Cielo or Heaven’s Gate which is a popular sunset spot. The view over the sea is mesmerising. Head a little further to one of my favourite agroturismo’s or hotels Es Cucons and have lunch or tea in their pretty gardens.
