Andy has more than 25 years of experience providing tax services to ultra high net worth individuals, family offices, corporate executives, and owner-operated businesses. He has a BBA and Masters in Accounting from Abilene Christian University.
Tell Citywealth readers a bit about your role.
I’m a Tax Principal with CLA in Houston where I help clients navigate income, gift, trust and estate tax issues.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day includes a breakfast meeting, client and prospect calls, meetings with my team followed by more calls and meetings.
What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?
Integrity and humility. Great leaders create trust, develop people, and enjoy seeing others succeed.
Who do you most admire and why?
One of the people I most admire is a former business partner of mine. I won’t share his name, but he knows who he is because I call him the “best boss” I ever had. He hired me when I was young in career, made me one of his partners, and taught me a lot about being a Texas gentleman.
Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?
Tucson, Arizona for a college campus visit with my son.
If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?
Definitely a professional hiker or outdoorsman.
How do you relax after a long day?
Dinner and watch a Houston Astros game with my beautiful wife of thirty years, Sheri.
