Citywealth Leaders List, 60 seconds interview – Patricia Angus, Angus Advisory Group LLC
This week’s 60 seconds Citywealth Leaders List interview is dedicated to Patricia Angus, Founder and CEO of Angus Advisory Group LLC.

What does a typical day look like for you?
If only there were a typical day! Every day is different. Perhaps reviewing client documents, facilitating family meetings, brainstorming family/ family office future plans, writing an article. And traveling to speak or meet with clients and/ or other advisors.
Tell us about some recent, interesting client instructions/requests you have received.
I’ve been receiving more requests from clients who are looking to dismantle or restructure their family offices and family trusts – it’s an interesting process.
What challenges do your clients face, and how are you helping them overcome them?
Finding a way to balance independence as well as connection to their families. Helping work between their legal and financial advisors and family offices and family principals to restructure – legally or otherwise – relationships to ensure they have more agency in their lives.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
Launching the Columbia Business School Global Family Enterprise Program as a comprehensive University based center for learning and engagement. And successfully handing over leadership to a successor. Seeing it thrive without me is a delight.
What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?
Vision combined with empathy and an ability to collaborate with others. Understanding that true leaders engender engagement rather than force or exclude it.
Who do you most admire and why?
Greta Thunberg. At such a young age, she caught the attention of the world for one of its most pressing issues.
Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?
Skiing in the French Alps.
If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?
Architecture.
How do you relax after a long day?
Walking, biking, kayaking or doing anything else that gets me outdoors and out of the office.
If you could recommend one person in the private wealth industry who would it be, and what would you say about them?
Kathyrn McCarthy. She has gravitas and compassion, with a wide variety of experience. Wisdom without arrogance.
