High-end, full of financial services professionals and bankers, Avra brings an international, silver-service eatery to a new location in Boston.
Avra, Boston is located at 400 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02115 on the second floor of the Lyrik development in Back Bay, right at the intersection of Newbury Street and Massachusetts Avenue.
Avra does not provide a challenge to Legal Sea Food, a restaurant who dominate in Boston. Legal Sea Food provide excellent sea food but more in a drop in or rock up, sit down and watch sport vibe with a glass of wine, martini or beer with all day dining. Citywealth Editor, Karen Jones said. “Avra is a go-to with multiple locations in New York City, it provides a very high end, business credit card and lifestyle vibe for client entertaining or out with work colleagues. It is highly popular and customers flock to it with their Hermes belts and Chanel handbags. If you didn’t know it was Greek inspired you would think more Italy and you won’t be far off comparing it to Carbone.”
Boston Magazine said of the opening: Avra Estiatorio is betting on Boston’s appetite for fish. The upscale mini-chain of Greek-inspired seafood spots, with glamorous locations in Beverly Hills, Miami, New York City, and beyond—is now open in Back Bay, featuring simply garnished, charcoal-grilled fish, including Mediterranean imports like tsipoura and lavraki. Plus: towers of crispy zucchini and eggplant chips, pretty platters of sashimi, and hilariously large slices of chocolate cake and coconut pie.
