Jamie Broderick appointed as new Chair of Philanthropy Impact
Philanthropy Impact is delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Broderick as its new Chair, succeeding Rennie Hoare, who has served as Chair for the past six years.

Jamie brings extensive experience across wealth management, investment and impact investing. He is Deputy Chair of the Impact Investing Institute, an independent, non-profit UK organisation focused on accelerating the growth and improving the effectiveness of the impact investing market.
Jamie was Head of UBS Wealth Management in the UK from 2013 to 2017, having joined UBS after 19 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he was latterly Chief Executive of its European business. He began his career in financial services at Wellington Management Company in Boston.
Commenting on his appointment, Jamie said:
“I am delighted to be taking on the Chair of Philanthropy Impact, building on the tremendous leadership Rennie Hoare has provided over the past six years.
It is a particularly exciting time to do so. Public awareness of the potential of philanthropy and the wider impact economy has never been higher, and there is growing recognition that private capital, alongside government and civil society, has an important role to play in tackling some of our most pressing social and environmental challenges.
Just as importantly, financial and professional advisers are increasingly recognising that understanding their clients’ values, philanthropic ambitions and appetite for impact is becoming an essential part of good advice. Philanthropy Impact sits right at that intersection – helping advisers, philanthropists and investors turn intention into action and, ultimately, increase the flow of capital for good.
I’m very much looking forward to working with John Pepin, the team, our members and partners to build on that momentum.”
Thank you to Rennie Hoare
Jamie takes over from Rennie Hoare, who has chaired Philanthropy Impact for the past six years.
We would like to thank Rennie warmly for his leadership, commitment and contribution to Philanthropy Impact during his time as Chair. He has played an important role in supporting the organisation and strengthening its work and profile across the philanthropy sector.
Rennie is Partner and Head of Philanthropy at C. Hoare & Co. and Chair of Hoares Trustees Limited, which oversees the bank’s donor-advised fund, the Master Charitable Trust.
Philanthropy Impact looks forward to working with Jamie, its members and partners as it continues to support greater collaboration and understanding across philanthropy and impact investing.
