Broughton Sanctuary Launches Flagship Women’s Gathering
First ‘Sanctuary of She’ blends transformational retreat with immersive festival.
Broughton Sanctuary has announced the launch of Sanctuary of She, a new flagship women’s gathering that combines the intimacy of a retreat, the transformational depth of ceremonial practice and the collective energy of a festival.
Taking place from 14–18 October 2026, the four-night immersive experience is a significant new addition to the Sanctuary’s internationally recognised retreat programme. It features a diverse schedule of workshops, ceremonies, movement, music, nature immersion and shared celebration, all held within an intimate and professionally supported environment.
Bringing together up to 70 women at the Yorkshire estate, it will be one of the UK’s most comprehensive women’s wellbeing gatherings. Curated by Paris Tempest – co-founder of Broughton’s Avalon Wellbeing and a highly respected embodiment facilitator – Sanctuary of She features an exceptional collective of facilitators, therapists, artists and practitioners.
Some of the UK’s most respected voices in women’s wisdom, mythology, embodiment and healing will join Paris, including mythologist and bestselling author Dr Sharon Blackie, spiritual teacher and therapist Katie Abbott, wellness entrepreneur and Founder of Wilding Tribe Fee Drummond, somatic movement practitioner Sally Fazeli and musician Aliya.
Throughout the gathering, guests can move between workshops, ceremonies, movement, music, storytelling, creative practice and nature-based experiences while remaining supported by the dedicated team of facilitators, wellbeing hosts and an on-site therapist.
The programme explores the themes of Wild. Womb. Wisdom., weaving together ancient practices with contemporary approaches to wellbeing. Guests will experience sacred ceremonies, forest bathing, singing circles, movement sessions, woodland sauna rituals, sound journeys, fire ceremonies, creative workshops and a celebratory closing Goddess Rave.

We wanted to create an experience that feels deeply nourishing whilst also full of joy, beauty and life.”
Set within the 2,500-acre rewilding landscape of Broughton Sanctuary on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, the gathering takes place in one of the UK’s leading destinations for transformational wellbeing. Home to the Tempest family for more than 900 years, the estate has become internationally recognised for its pioneering approach to regenerative living, nature recovery and holistic wellbeing.
Guests will stay in rooms within Broughton Hall or in one of the Sanctuary’s beautifully restored retreat houses. They can access Avalon Wellbeing, Broughton Sanctuary’s award-winning retreat centre, with its hydrothermal facilities, treatment rooms, movement studios, and explore the extensive woodlands, gardens and walking trails. Seasonal, nourishing meals and time for rest and reflection are woven throughout the programme. As demand grows for experiences that move beyond self-care towards collective healing and authentic connection, Sanctuary of She reflects a wider evolution in the wellbeing landscape that values community, ceremony and nature as essential ingredients for transformation.
