What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days look exactly the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role. I usually start by checking my inbox and priorities for the day, then move between client communications, event planning and digital marketing activity. A lot of my focus is on making sure everything feels consistent and relevant for our clients across both the US and UK.

What recent campaign, rebrand or initiative are you most proud of?

Tanager has been hosting a series of seminars as part of our Transatlantic Women’s Wealth Network, which we started three years ago and continue to grow. Our most recent seminar, “The Transatlantic Estate: Planning Without Borders,” was hosted alongside Withers and designed for American women living in the UK. It created space for meaningful conversations with others in similar positions and helped attendees build their network within the American community here. The feedback has been fantastic, with attendees valuing the chance to discuss cross-border challenges alongside our Financial Advisors, professional contacts, and clients who have faced similar experiences themselves.

What are the biggest marketing challenges facing private wealth firms today?

One of the biggest challenges is navigating compliance, especially when working across multiple regulatory jurisdictions. In private wealth, marketing needs to be engaging and distinctive, but it also must be accurate, appropriate and sensitive to the regulatory environment. That balance can be complex when speaking to clients across both the US and UK.

How do you differentiate a private wealth brand in a crowded and often conservative market?

For Tanager, it is about specialising rather than generalising. Focusing solely on the US-UK space means we can speak directly to cross-border challenges that many firms can only touch on. That focus, backed by real expertise, does more for the brand than trying to appeal to everyone.

What metrics matter most to you when measuring success?

The metric that ultimately matters most is whether a campaign leads to a real conversation with one of our Financial Advisors. Engagement numbers are useful because they show whether content is resonating, but in private wealth the bigger measure of success is whether marketing helps build trust and creates opportunities for meaningful client conversations.

What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a marketing leader?

I think the most important attribute is genuinely caring about people. Strong marketing leaders need to understand what motivates clients, colleagues, and the wider team, because the best ideas often come from listening carefully and creating an environment where people feel confident contributing.

Who or what inspires your creative thinking?

Often client and colleague feedback. I also keep an eye on what competitors are doing, less to copy and more to spot the gaps we can fill.

Where was the last place you travelled for work or inspiration?

In February, I travelled around India, visiting Mumbai and Kerala. It was amazing to see the contrast between the two. Vibrant, chaotic energy in Mumbai, and total calm in Kerala. It reminded me how much environment can shape perspective.

If you were not in private wealth marketing, what would you be doing?

I would love to be a travel writer. I have always enjoyed visiting new countries, exploring new cultures, and noticing the small details that make a place feel different. It would combine two things I really enjoy: storytelling and seeing the world.

How do you relax after a busy campaign or event?

Spending time with family and friends is always the best way for me to switch off. Whether it’s a trip to the pub, a long walk with a coffee, or trying out a new restaurant in London, I find that good company and a change of pace help me recharge after a busy week.

Which private wealth brand do you think is getting it right, and why?

I really liked Buzzacott’s recent rebrand. Rebranding is a bold move and often comes with an element of risk, as it needs to resonate with both existing and prospective audiences. I think they got it right by modernising their brand while staying true to their heritage and values.
