Julian Cooper
Julius Baer
Managing Director

Julian moved to Julius Baer in 2016 having been at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, latterly as a Managing Director since 2007. He has been in Private Banking for over 20 years, having started out helping build Barclays Private Bank, latterly Barclays Wealth, when the office consisted of five Bankers. He has always looked after clients but had various jobs beside – he sat on the Investment Committee and on the Board of Barclays Private Bank Ltd, was part of the Strategy Committee, ran the Entrepreneurs Team as well as having the largest book of clients. Julian came into Private Banking from Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions – having worked for NatWest Markets, NM Rothschild and Deutsche Genossenschaftsbank. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, having qualified at KPMG and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investment

Camilla Stowell
Coutts International and Private Office
Managing Director Head of Wealth & Investment Management

Camilla joined Coutts Private Office in 2007 with a mandate to manage a portfolio of Ultra High Net Worth clients. She has built an impressive 20 years’ plus experience in the wealth management industry, previously in client management roles at Lloyds Private Banking, Drummonds, and Schroders Private Bank. In May 2015 she was appointed Managing Director of Coutts International, Coutts Crown Dependencies, and Coutts Private Office. In April 2017 Camilla took an expanded role of Head of Wealth & Investment Management overseeing the management of the businesses, driving strategic and propositional developments. She is a member of the Private Banking Executive Committee and co-chairs the Coutts Diversity & Inclusion Council. Camilla won Private Banker International “Outstanding Young Private Banker” 2012. She has a BA Hons Philosophy & Politics Durham University and the Securities Institute Diploma.

Alistair Peel
Strabens Hall

Alistair Peel is a Director and Board Member of Strabens Hall. He primarily has responsibility for the firm’s Investment Advisory Service and Investment Monitoring & Consulting service. Prior to Strabens Hall, Alistair was Head of the Intermediary Desk at HSBC Private Bank and before that was Head of Corporates and Institutions at HSBC Asset Management and was responsible for product development and distribution of the proposition into HSBC’s Corporate Investment Bank which managed the bank’s largest institutional clients. Previous to HSBC, Alistair was a Portfolio Manager at Schroder Private Bank and part of a specialist team of three, managing in excess of £1bn in global multi-asset portfolios. Alistair is a member of the Strabens Hall Investment Committee.

Rosalyn Breedy
Wedlake Bell

Rosalyn is a Corporate and Financial Services lawyer with 24 years’ experience working in private practice, investment banking and at a multi-family office. Her core clients are family businesses, family offices, trustees, private capital investors, private wealth managers and entrepreneurs (particularly private equity, hedge fund principals, fintech businesses) and other city professionals. In addition to providing strategic advice Rosalyn establishes private funds, advises family offices and fund management businesses and acts on a range of private equity and joint venture deals. Rosalyn also provides financial services regulatory and commercial advice, with a particular interest in the development of new products and business models focussed on technology. She has a keen interest in financial regulation and policy work and writes and speaks regularly on these matters. Rosalyn is recommended as a Leading Citywealth lawyer and a Top Five Corporate Lawyer in Spear’s 500 from inception in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Rosalyn has written over 50 articles for a range of private wealth publications and has presented seminars for family office conferences, accountants, wealth managers, alternative investment fund managers and fiduciary services. She has spoken in London, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Montreux, Geneva, Monaco, Vancouver and Cape Town.

Filippo Noseda

Filippo is a dual qualified English solicitor and Swiss lawyer (Rechtsanwalt). He is also admitted to practice in the British Virgin Islands. Filippo read law at the University of Zurich (lic.iur., magna cum laude, 1997) and the London School of Economics (LLM in international tax and trust law, 2001). He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (IAETL). Filippo joined Mishcon de Reya from Withers, where he was joint head of the European private client and tax group. Filippo’s clients include wealthy individuals and governments. Able to straddle the divide between common law and civil law, his areas of expertise include UK and international tax, taxation of UK property, nternational relocation, tax compliance (transparency/voluntary disclosure /investigations), trusts and foundations (advisory and contentious), international Wills and probate, generational succession planning, family governance.

David Barker
Rawlinson & Hunter
Partner, Private Client Services

David specialises in tax planning for UK and international clients and acts as liaison partner to the firm’s offices in Switzerland, which he visits regularly. He has a special interest in planning tax effective wealth holding structures for the financial and business assets of private clients.  He is also highly experienced in handling all levels of HMRC tax investigation. David graduated from Oxford and, following experience at both Big 4 and smaller firms, joined Rawlinson & Hunter in 1997. He became a partner in April 2000 and is based in the London office, where he is head of the tax department. David is a chartered tax adviser and was a double prize-winner on his admission to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in 2000. He is a regular contributor to professional publications.

David Nelson
Dixon Wilson

David has expertise in helping wealthy families, and their businesses, and Landed Estates concerning tax and other aspects of their financial and business affairs, leading a team which works closely with clients and other professional advisors. His work includes a particular emphasis on the UK aspects of international tax, offshore trusts and the UK resident who has retained a foreign domicile. He also has considerable experience in acting as a Trustee and Non-Executive Director with clients across a whole spectrum in both the public company and private arena. Sectors include media and information, hotels, insurance and training. Trusteeships include Landed Estates and other diverse business interests.

Farah Ballands
Chief Executive Officer

Farah is the Chief Executive Officer of Estera and Managing Director of Estera Trust (Jersey) Limited. She oversees the group’s fiduciary, administration and accounting practices in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Luxembourg, Malta, Mauritius and the UK. Farah is a lawyer by background and was a partner of Appleby from 2003 until 2015, where she led the global fiduciary practices since 2006, which eventually became Estera in 2016. In the past, Farah specialised in the implementation and administration of corporate employee benefit arrangements. She has extensive knowledge of the use of offshore trust and corporate structures.
