Citywealth Leaders List, 60 second interview – Charlotte McIntyre, W1M
This week’s 60 seconds Citywealth Leaders List interview is dedicated to Charlotte McIntyre, Business Development Manager, Private Clients, at W1M

Tell Citywealth readers a bit about your role.
I am a Business Development Manager for the Private Client team at W1M.
Working alongside W1M’s Head of Private Clients Business Development, my role involves supporting the internal and external growth strategy of the firm by building strong relationships with lawyers, accountants, trust companies and investment consultants.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My day begins with a strong coffee before heading into the office. Once I arrive, I start by reviewing my emails, checking my calendar, and outlining my key priorities for the day, whether that involves meeting with the Head of Business Development or following up on recent client conversations. I then review upcoming meetings and events for the team, which naturally leads into preparation and planning, often including the creation of briefing packs. Following this, I update our internal CRM system organise meetings for the team and progress any ad‑hoc projects currently underway.
What challenges do your clients face and how are you helping your clients to overcome them?
W1M’s clients are individuals seeking support with their financial needs, whether that involves investment management, wealth planning, or a combination of both. One of their greatest challenges is identifying the solution that best suits their circumstances. At W1M, we work closely with our clients to ensure they receive tailored advice that enables them to grow and preserve their wealth for the future.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
Bringing people together is a central part of my role. Recently, we hosted a Next Gen networking breakfast at the V&A, which included a private viewing of the Marie Antoinette exhibition. I was responsible for coordinating the event from initial planning through to on-the-day execution. With more than 70 attendees and a 98% turnout rate, it stands as one of my proudest professional achievements.
What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?
One of the most important qualities of an effective leader is the ability to listen and adapt to the needs of each individual. Recognising that people work differently and adjusting accordingly, is essential to building a productive, engaged, and positive team.
Who do you most admire and why?
As cliché as it may sound, the person I most admire is my older sister. From an early age, I found myself inspired by her path, choosing similar subjects at school and even pursuing university because she had done so. She has achieved remarkable success in her career through dedication and hard work, while also exemplifying the kind of caring and considerate leadership that I aspire to emulate.
Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?
I recently went to Barcelona with my fiancé to surprise his sister who lives in Australia. She was on a work trip and had the weekend to explore the city. It was so lovely to spend quality time with her and visit a city I had never previously been to, who knew there were so many different flavour croquettes!
If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?
My mother has always told me I could argue my way through any difficult conversation, so I would probably be a lawyer. Though the idea of taking so many exams sounds exhausting.
How do you relax after a long day?
After a particularly long day, I relax by going home and finding the latest documentary on Netflix while my fiancé cooks dinner. I am usually spoilt on a Friday evening with either homemade sushi or a salmon poke bowl.
If you could recommend one person in the private wealth industry who would it be, and what would you say about them?
Although I have been in the industry for nearly 10 years, I am still fairly new to the world of business development and I am finding it interesting meeting and building relationships with intermediary contacts. One of the most rewarding has been meeting Louisa Tagziria from Cripps, an Associate in the family team.
