James was appointed Head of UK International PB in 2017 and in June 2023 James was appointed Head of UK Domestic Private Bank.  James is responsible for a multi-billion dollar portfolio and has run teams across Asia, Africa Europe and the UK serving our high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.

Over his 36 year career within the Wealth Management industry, the last 30 of which have been at Barclays, James has held a number of client facing roles. He has appeared on the Top 100 International Wealth Advisors list since 2007, is included in the 2022 Top 10 ‘Magic Circle’ of Private bankers and the 2022 Top 20 men in Wealth Management list. In 2018 James received a Career Achievement award for his contribution to the Private Banking industry.

Throughout his career James has been an enthusiastic supporter of female talent and gender diversity, initiating and then actively supporting many Mentorship and Sponsoring programmes. He has been a school governor at a number of maintained schools in London for over 25 years and has worked in several socially disadvantaged London Boroughs developing life skills for school leavers. He sits on the boards of several charities serving the education and arts sectors.

James is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, a Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance.
