Tell Citywealth readers a bit about your role.

I’m a Client Relationship Manager at Suntera, where I work in the Private Wealth team to support high-net-worth families with managing and protecting their assets across multiple jurisdictions. My role involves providing tailored solutions in asset protection, succession planning, and ongoing administration of complex trust and company structures.

A key part of my work is building close, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their unique needs, long-term goals, and family dynamics, so I can deliver a personalised and responsive service. Ultimately, my role is about offering peace of mind and continuity for families navigating the complexities that come with wealth management.

What does a typical day look like for you?

One of the things that I value about my role is that every day is different. Currently, I am focusing on developing a large family structure across several locations, which includes identifying potential roadblocks and finding solutions to ensure they have a robust succession plan for years to come.

Tell us about some recent, interesting client instructions/requests you have received.

One interesting client request I received was the establishment of a foundation which specialises in women’s rights in the MENA region. The foundation aims to support the development of women in the region through strategic philanthropy and facilitating economic empowerment. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of something so meaningful and to support real, lasting change where women face significant barriers. This experience was a reminder of how impactful our work can be when values and strategy come together.

What challenges do your clients face, and how are you helping your clients to overcome them?

A key challenge for international private client families is staying ahead of legal, political, and financial developments that can impact their long-term strategies. Regulatory requirements are particularly demanding, from tax transparency and reporting obligations such as FATCA and CRS to increasingly stringent controls on cross-border asset movement and compliance.

My focus is on giving clients clarity and confidence by working closely with their legal, investment and tax advisers.

What is your proudest professional achievement?

Gainingmy STEP qualification significantly strengthened my technical knowledge and understanding of the private wealth sector. Because it’s an internationally recognised qualification in the trust and estate field, it helped me develop a deeper understanding of the legal, tax and fiduciary principles that underpin the structures that I work with every day. It’s also given me the confidence to provide more proactive and informed support to clients and has had a huge impact on my relationship management skills.

What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?

To me, one of the most important attributes of a leader is emotional intelligence, the ability to genuinely connect with and understand the people around you. Equally essential are integrity and trustworthiness, as these qualities build the foundation of trust that earns credibility and respect. In the context of client relationship management, these attributes are crucial for a leader to build strong and transparent connections, handle sensitive situations with empathy, and give clients confidence that their affairs are being managed with both professionalism and care.

Who do you most admire and why?

One person I really admire is Anne Wojcicki, the co-founder of 23andMe. She combined scientific expertise with entrepreneurial vision to make genetics accessible to the public, challenging the traditional healthcare model by empowering individuals with their own health data. She’s also a strong advocate for ethical data use and women’s leadership in biotech, bringing together innovation, purpose and disruption in a way that has had a real social impact.

Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?

The last place I travelled to for work was the Middle East, where I visited clients and intermediaries in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Bahrain. This trip provided valuable opportunities to strengthen client relationships, gain a deeper understanding of their needs and explore new business prospects in a dynamic market.

More recently, I returned from a trip to the Amalfi Coast with a close friend, where we spent time exploring the stunning coastal towns like Positano and Ravello. The scenery was breathtaking with a backdrop of dramatic cliffs, colourful buildings and crystal-clear Mediterranean waters.

If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?

If I weren’t working in private wealth, I could see myself pursuing a career as a therapist. I have a strong interest in understanding people’s motivations and emotional challenges, and I find great fulfilment in helping others overcome difficult situations and achieve personal growth. This aligns closely with the skills I use in wealth management, building trust, empathy, and providing tailored guidance, making therapy a natural alternative career path where I could continue to make a meaningful impact on individuals’ lives.

How do you relax after a long day?

I am passionate about maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. Living on Guernsey, surrounded by natural beauty, gives me plenty of scenic routes for my regular runs along the island’s cliff paths and lanes. I’m also an active member of a women’s hockey team, so you’ll often find me down at the pitch training or playing matches.
