Oxford Economics has launched Greenomics, a podcast series that delves into the complex relationships between climate, nature and our global economy.

With panels of experts as guides, the podcast aims to navigate the changing landscape of the green transition. Each episode will discuss one aspect of climate and sustainability and unpack what it means for businesses in today’s economy.

Sarah Nelson is the Greenomics host. She is a Senior Economist in the Economics & Sustainability team at Oxford Economics and holds degrees in economics and physics, as well as a PhD in climate economics and policy from the University of Cambridge. Her professional interests include the economics of decarbonisation, energy policy, and nature-related financial regulation.

The introductory episode of the podcast is available now. Nelson is joined by Adrian Cooper, CEO of Oxford Economics, to discuss why the podcast is shining a light on the role of economics in the drive towards sustainability.

In the opening of the introductory episode, Nelson says: “Each month, we’ll be joined by a panel of experts to discuss one aspect of sustainability and unpack what it means in today’s economy. We’ll explore how the economy can be harnessed to address the climate crisis, and how businesses can help to create a sustainable future for all.”

“Global warming is no longer a distant threat; it’s a reality that demands our immediate attention. Shifting climate patterns and extreme weather events pose major threats to individuals, companies and countries around the world. At the same time of course, our global economy faces challenges of its own. Managing the many risks and the economic impacts is essential for businesses, but there’s also an opportunity to be a leader in the transition to a global green economy. Greenomics will explore the risks and opportunities and distil our leading economic analysis into insights for your business.”
