Citywealth Leaders List, 60 second interview – Francesca Boschini, Deutsche Bank
This week’s 60 seconds Citywealth Leaders List interview is dedicated to Francesca Boschini, Head of International Wealth Planning – Deutsche Bank Wealth Management Americas.

Tell CityWealth readers a bit about your role.
I serve as the Head of International Wealth Planning and Head of Insurance Solutions for the U.S. Private Bank at Deutsche Bank, based in New York. Since joining the bank more than ten years ago, I have led the U.S. cross-border and international wealth planning practice as well as our insurance planning solutions platform. In my work with clients, I provide technical guidance on sophisticated wealth and insurance planning matters for both U.S. and international families. My focus is on designing and implementing strategies that address the complex global wealth preservation, estate planning, and insurance needs of high‑net‑worth and ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My day typically begins with a review of emails around 7:00 a.m., followed by arriving at the office around 8:00 a.m. If I have an early client meeting or presentation, the start of the day adjusts accordingly. Once in the office, I focus first on emails and calls with clients and colleagues in Europe. By mid‑morning, I move into internal meetings with various teams across the U.S. Private Bank. Late mornings through early afternoon are dedicated to client‑facing work, including calls, meetings, and follow‑ups. Later in the day, I often shift to matters involving West Coast clients and may attend industry or client events.
Tell us about some recent, interesting client instructions/requests you have received.
We’ve seen several notable trends emerge in recent client requests. First, the current geopolitical environment has sparked heightened interest in global mobility planning, with clients seeking guidance on residency and second‑citizenship options and the associated pre‑immigration tax and estate planning considerations. This includes both international families exploring moves or investments in the U.S. and U.S.-based clients evaluating opportunities abroad.
Second, as cross‑border interest grows, clients are also looking to diversify into less traditional asset classes, including sports‑related investments and art.
Lastly, with the largest wealth transfer in history underway, more families are asking us to support them in family governance discussions and in preparing the next generation for future responsibilities.
What challenges do your clients face and how are you helping your clients to overcome them?
Our clients have increasingly complex global needs, requiring them to stay current on legislation across multiple jurisdictions, understand cross‑border investment implications, and navigate rising geopolitical risk. At Deutsche Bank, we help them manage these challenges by providing integrated guidance and solutions tailored to their international wealth planning and risk‑management needs.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
I’ve been fortunate to receive several professional awards throughout my career, which has always made me both proud and humbled. Equally meaningful, however, are the moments when clients express their appreciation for the support provided to their families, or when junior colleagues and mentees thank me for contributing to their professional and personal development.
What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?
A good leader in my opinion should be an enabler, of talent, of people and of ideas. Effective leadership requires the ability to listen, remain calm and rational, and build the right team to support and execute a shared vision.
Who do you most admire and why?
There are many people who inspire me from family, friends to colleagues, teachers, and respected members of the community, so it’s difficult to single out just one individual.
Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?
New Hampshire.
If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?
Museum Director or Curator.
How do you relax after a long day?
Reading a nice book, watching an old classic movie or listening to music with my family.
