Art.Private launches the first edition of Art For Every Child, a charitable initiative in support of the Art Explora Foundation.

The public is invited to take part in a fundraising raffle for the chance to win Portrait de Femme, Nice (1942), a drawing by Henri Matisse valued at nearly €100,000.

The initiative aims to bring together the art world and the general public around a shared ambition: making art accessible to everyone. Its goal is to mobilise the art community and the wider public to give as many people as possible, particularly children, the opportunity to discover art and culture. This is the ambition behind Art For Every Child. Launched by Art.Private in support of the Art Explora Foundation, this charitable initiative takes the form of an exceptional raffle featuring a work by Henri Matisse.

For this inaugural edition, participants will have the chance to win Portrait de Femme, Nice (1942), a drawing by Henri Matisse valued at €100,000, by purchasing a ticket for €25. Beyond the opportunity to win this artwork, every entry contributes to a broader mission: supporting Art Explora Foundation initiatives that encourage people to engage with and discover art and culture through the funds raised.

Entries are open at artforeverychild.com and via QR codes displayed at partner events.

Created in 1942, Portrait de Femme, Nice is a pen-and-ink drawing on paper, signed “Henri Matisse” in the lower-left corner. Measuring 26.4 × 20 cm, the work comes from the collection of David Nahmad and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Up to 200,000 tickets, priced at €25 each, will be made available for this first edition. The draw is scheduled to take place in Paris in April 2027, under the supervision of a judicial officer (commissaire de justice). The artwork serves as a meeting point between the art world and a charitable initiative. After deduction of the costs associated with the operation, the funds raised will contribute to financing Art Explora Foundation programmes designed to make art and culture accessible to as many people as possible, with particular emphasis on younger generations.

This first edition, dedicated to Henri Matisse, is intended to mark the beginning of an annual event, with a new major artist and a new artwork featured each year. The ambition is to establish a lasting commitment from both the art world and the general public, providing ongoing support for initiatives that promote access to art and culture, particularly for children and young people.
