Paulina Mejia, National Fiduciary Counsel, serves the firm’s largest clients, as well as clients with the most complex needs, bringing her expertise in working to align families’ legacy goals with their trust and estates wealth transfer strategies and planning, with an emphasis on legacy planning and education, as well as philanthropy. Ms. Mejia also leads the development and implementation of the firm’s Women & Wealth Program and is responsible for the firm’s national attorney outreach strategy, focusing on in its integrated and collaborative delivery of fiduciary and investment services. Paulina has over 20 years of trusts and estates practice and advisory experience and is a member of Fiduciary Trust’s management and operating committees. She also serves on Fiduciary Trust Company of Delaware’s board as well as Fiduciary Trust International’s Inclusion Council. Prior to joining Fiduciary Trust, Paulina served as head of Atlantic Trust’s wealth strategies group and as senior wealth strategist in their New York office. Previously, she was a wealth planner with Brown Brothers Harriman & Company and, before that, she practiced law in the trusts and estates department of Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP.  She was selected by Crain’s New York Business as one of the Notable Women in Finance in New York City. This award recognizes women financial professionals who demonstrate outstanding and impactful leadership in their firms as well as their local communities. Additionally, she was named to MoneyManagement Executive’s list of Top Women in Asset Management as well as WSR Pathfinder Awards – Top Women Industry Leaders of 2025. Outside of the office, Ms. Mejia serves on several boards, including the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, and is Vice Chair of the Non-Tax Planning Group for RPTE; Co-Chair of the Fiduciary Administration Committee and former Co-Chair of the Emotional & Psychological Issues in Planning Committee; Trust & Estates Magazine Editorial Advisory Board and its Family Business Committee; the Leaders Council of the UHNW Institute; New York Presbyterian’s Planned Giving Advisory Council; and she serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Miss Porter’s School, where she is Vice Chair of the Finance Committee, and sits on the Investment Committee. Ms. Mejia graduated, magna cum laude, with a BA from Boston College and received her JD from Boston College Law School.
