Karen Jones is the founder of Citywealth, a publishing and events company she launched in 2005 to connect ultra-high-net-worth individuals with leading private wealth managers worldwide. Through Citywealth’s editorial, awards programmes, and networking forums, she has positioned the platform as a trusted source of intelligence in the global wealth management sector.

Recognised as a natural communicator and industry commentator, Karen is regularly invited to provide insight on trends shaping private wealth — from family office governance and succession planning to the role of technology in wealth management. She has built a reputation as one of the leading women in wealth management and a prominent voice in advancing women’s visibility in the sector.

Career Background

Karen’s career foundation was in newspapers, spending nearly a decade at The Times and The Sunday Times, before leading Legal Business magazine and its awards. Since founding Citywealth, she has grown it into a respected brand known for editorial quality, prestigious awards such as the Magic Circle Awards, and thought-leadership features with top industry experts each week.

Recognition and Awards

Her achievements include nine Stevie Awards for Women in Business (including two Gold), the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry SME Business Woman of the Year (2024), and the prestigious Freedom of the City of London. Karen also holds voting rights for the Lord Mayor of London.

Education and Expertise

Academically, she has studied at London Business School, LSE, and the University of Oxford Said Business School – Women’s Leadership, furthering her expertise in finance, strategy, and emerging technologies. In parallel to her publishing work, she is Citywealth’s Anti-Money Laundering Officer and is pursuing qualifications in Forensic Accounting, Fraud Examination, and AML.

Karen’s wider interests include Chinese art, technology innovation, and philanthropy, having supported multiple charities through Citywealth’s events programme. She also holds a strong voice in fintech and blockchain, representing the small percentage of women engaged in the cryptocurrency sector.

Calin Lapuste  Global Head of Relationships & Head of Citywealth USA

Calin began his career in international private banking, advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals at a leading Central European bank, before moving on to oversee the development of the region’s largest luxury leisure centre.

Since joining Citywealth in 2015, he has overseen business development, client engagement and international expansion, with a particular focus on the United States. He also leads the company’s marketing activities and contributes to its editorial board, shaping strategic direction and reinforcing Citywealth’s presence in global wealth management.

He works closely with the CEO on international initiatives and plays a key role in guiding the company’s continued growth.

Digital Channels and Events

Vicente Luckina Bunn  Digital Channels Executive

Vicente Luckina Bunn was born in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state, in south Brazil. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication with a qualification in Journalism, a degree in Production, Communication and Organisation of Events, and a Master in New Media, Radio and TV. Vicente worked for more than 8 years for the main TV channel in Florianópolis and helped organise some of the biggest events in Brazil. In 2010, when he was editor-in-chief of a daily newspaper in Greater Florianópolis, he took his first cruise ship. After that experience, he decided he wanted to change his career path, so he went to work on cruise ships. Months later he was on board as a Bell boy and started his career progression: he worked as Animator, then as Program Host and then he was promoted to ITV Host. After almost six years working on cruise ships, he left and 2021 he joined to Citywealth where he is working as a Digital Channels Executive at Citywealth, producing videos for Citywealth’s events and interviews for the company’s social media channels.

Charlotte helps promote the Citywealth suite of products and seeks editorial opportunities for the CEO. She is also responsible for awards entries for Citywealth. She speaks fluent French and Hungarian, has good working knowledge of German as well as some Spanish and Italian.

Dora Seres  Admin and Tech Executive

Dora is in charge of keeping Citywealth Leaders List directory and databases up to date. She is responsible for sending out invoices, handling debt collection and dealing with all administrative enquiries. Dora also manages the Tomorrow and Wealth Professionals networking clubs. She has three years of experience in the film and advertising industry with a background in sales.
