The Citywealth Editorial Board provides guidance and direction to our editorial team. Convening twice a year – virtually – the board discusses the latest trends and innovation in the wealth management and private client industries. 

 Glen Atchison, Managing Partner, Harbottle & Lewis, London

Glen advises ultra-high and high-net-worth individuals, family offices and trusts on UK and international tax and succession planning, establishing tax efficient planning, asset protection and succession structures. He also advises on international asset recovery.

Glen’s client base is highly diverse, ranging from those involved in the financial sectors and funds, to those in the technology, media and entertainment industries.

Glen is also the Firm’s Managing Partner.

Rakesh Dabasia, Director, Buzzacott, London

Rakesh works with high-net-worth individuals who are either UK resident or non-UK resident with UK assets, onshore and offshore trustees and their structures, as well as family and private offices. Many of his clients have an international element, either because they have assets or structures outside of the UK, or they are moving to and from the UK, which always requires careful tax planning. Rakesh carries out tax advisory and compliance services for clients with complicated financial affairs and multi-jurisdiction assets by providing a family office service. He has over 20 years’ experience in providing tax advisory services to UK resident but non-UK domiciled high-net-worth individuals and his specialist knowledge also includes offshore trust and corporate structures. 

Michael Fischer, Partner, Fischer Ramp Buchmann, Zurich

Michael advises private clients on their domestic and international estate, tax, social security and succession planning as well as on philanthropic projects and governance related questions. He has considerable expertise in dealing with tax authorities and advising foreign lawyers, and he is a recognised expert on the taxation of trusts and similar structures. Further, he acts on behalf of corporations, in particular family held companies and family offices, in domestic and cross-border matters.

Marc Halsema, Founder & Principal of Jaclise International, New York

Marc is the Founder & Principal of Jaclise International LLC – a strategic advisory firm customized to the goals and aspirations of highly successful entrepreneurs, families, family offices, merchant family groups and privately held businesses around the world.  Marc’s global advisory practice builds upon more than 20 years living and working in Russia and the Middle East in addition to his career as a corporate lawyer in Chicago and New York.  Prior to founding Jaclise International, Marc spent two decades with Ernst & Young in Moscow and New York in various business and private client roles, as well as several years as managing director and general counsel of a boutique merchant bank headquartered in the Middle East.

Philip Higson, Group Head of Family Investment Office, Quintet Private Bank, Zurich

The Family Investment Office headed by Philip operates out of three hubs, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom, serving UHNW families and entrepreneurs with a unique wealth advisory process that captures risk, reward, liquidity and total wealth goals.

Philip is an entrepreneur, who in 2017 founded Carlyon, a Zurich-based consultancy, providing strategic research, analysis and advice to business owners and managers that depend upon financial markets for their success. Prior to that, he served as vice chairman, Global Family Office Group, at UBS. In that role, Philip supported a wide range of family offices and UHNWIs in Europe and worldwide, drawing upon his detailed knowledge of markets. He previously ran the bank’s onshore UHNWI business in Europe, led its Global Family Office activities in Switzerland and served as Group Head of Investor Relations.

Joshua Matthews, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, MASECO Private Wealth, London

Josh is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of MASECO Private Wealth which was established in 2008. Prior to establishing MASECO, Josh established and led the US Expat at Citibank in London. As an expat himself, he had the vision to re-create the US wealth management experience in the UK which naturally developed based on his background, knowledge and expertise. Stella Mitchell-Voisin, Managing Director, Summit Trust International, Geneva

Stella is Managing Director of Summit Trust International SA in Geneva and one of the founders of the company.

She has a wide range of experience of trust and company management including fine art, bloodstock, real estate, private equity, international portfolio management and private trust companies as well as contentious trust issues. Stella is a graduate of King’s College London, LLB (Hons), a member of the Institute of Banking & Finance, the IOD and STEP. She is a regular speaker at international trust conferences and acts as a tutor for Central Law Training in respect of the STEP diploma courses. Stella appears on the Citywealth leaders list.

James Penny, Head of Uk International Private Bank at Barclays, London

Head of UK International Private Bank at Barclays . James is responsible for a multi-billion dollar portfolio, leading teams based in the UK who serve our International high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. Over his 30+ year career within the Wealth Management industry, James has held a number of client facing roles. Throughout his career James has been an enthusiastic supporter of female talent and gender diversity, initiating and then actively supporting many Mentorship and Sponsoring programmes. James has spoken widely on the subject of Gender Diversity. He is regularly sought out to mentor individuals from a variety of different industries. He has been a school governor at a number of maintained schools in London for over 20 years and has worked in several socially disadvantaged London Boroughs on developing life skills for school leavers. He sits on the boards of several charities serving the education and arts sectors. James is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, an Associate of the London Institute of Banking and Finance and an Executive Fellow at Kings College London Business School.

Joshua Rubenstein, Partner and Chair, Private Wealth Department, Katten Muchin Rosenman, New York

In his widely respected practice, Joshua Rubenstein, national chair of the firm’s Private Wealth practice, brings a variety of important services under one roof for high-net-worth individuals. He offers integrated planning, administration and litigation counseling for individuals, their estates and their businesses, all of it designed to preserve wealth over generations. Lisa Vizia, Director, Saffery Champness, Guernsey

Lisa heads up a Family Office team managing offshore structures for ultra-high net worth families, focusing on the Middle East.
