Advising a husband on his assets in The Bahamas in the midst of a divorce proceeding
Instructed to protect the interests of Mr X and his assets in The Bahamas against measures by Y to secure the enforcement of an interim Divorce judgment issued by a Texas Court notwithstanding a prior Divorce decree in Mexico, involved advice on freezing orders; anti-suit injunctions; proceedings for recognition of foreign divorce and judgments in the Bahamas and Declaratory proceedings as to marital status. Matter value: In excess of $750,000,000.
Representing a wife in obtaining a worldwide injunction
Represented Mrs C in divorce from Mr C. Obtained a worldwide Mareva Injunction to prevent dealings with some $25 million in property, stocks and shares which was maintained until the judgment in favour of the Client was fully complied with by the Husband. The judgment on the ancillary relief was a landmark decision in Bahamian Family law as it was the first Bahamian case on recognition and enforcement of pre-nuptial agreements following the English decision of Radmacher v Granatino. Matter value: In excess of $25,000,000.
