Managing a deceased client’s estate with assets in three countries
I administered an English estate of a German domiciliary with an extensive art collection. There were cross-border estate assets in three jurisdictions which involved analysing validity of substantial lifetime gifts where the deceased died after instructing the bank to make transfers after fixed term deposits matured but died before the maturity date. I also advised on winding-up of a substantial life interest trust involving tax and valuation issues.
