Stanhope Capital appoints Mexico’s former finance minister to its advisory board
Stanhope Capital has appointed renowned Mexican economistDr PedroAspe to its advisory board. He will sit alongside other industry and financedoyensincluding Lord Browne, the former BP chief executive and Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive of WPP.
DrAspe’s career spans four decades in the areas of academia, Federal Government,anddomestic andinternationalprivate sectors. He was Secretary of the Treasury in Mexico between1988 and1994.
Upon leavinggovernment in 1994, heproceeded tofoundProtego, one of the first Mexican investment banksin 1996. Protegojoined forces withEvercorePartners, a leading US investment bank in 2006, and the combined businesssuccessfully listed on the New York Stock Exchangein the same year. DrAspeheld the position ofco-chairman ofEvercore Partnersfrom 2006until his retirementin February2017.
