RBC Wealth Management appoints Head of RBC Wealth Management – International
RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), has announced the appointment of Dave Thomas as Head of RBC Wealth Management – International.
Thomas will lead RBC’s Wealth Management businesses in the UK and the Channel Islands. He will continue his role as Chief Executive Officer of RBC Capital Markets Europe. Thomas is based in London and will have a joint reporting line to Doug Guzman, Group Head, RBC Wealth Management and Insurance and to Troy Maxwell, Chief Operating Officer, RBC Capital Markets.

In his new mandate, Thomas remains on the Global Capital Markets Operating Committee and joins the Wealth Management and Insurance Operating Committee. He continues to chair the Capital Markets Europe Operating Committee and the WM-I Operating Committee. He remains Executive Director, RBC Europe Limited as well as Chairman, RBC Global Asset Management (U.K.) Limited.
Thomas joined RBC in 1992 and has held a number of global and regional mandates in the Capital Markets business, technology and functions across the organisation.
In this expanded role, Thomas is supported by David Bailey as Chief Operating Officer, RBC Wealth Management – International. In this newly created role, Bailey is responsible for leading business strategy initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency. Since joining RBC 18 years ago, Bailey has held senior finance roles, most recently as Senior Director, Finance, RBC Wealth Management – International. Bailey is based in Jersey, where RBC has had a presence since 1962 and is one of the island’s largest private employers.
