New Quadrant Partners to reposition as two founders go their separate ways
Boutique private wealth law firm New Quadrant Partners (NQP) is, after ten years, repositioning to provide Trust, Fiduciary and Family Office services under the continued leadership of founding partner Louise Stoten. Co-founder Zoë Camp moves her advisory practice to leading law firm Harbottle & Lewis along with lawyers that include Senior Associate Alexa Collis and the UK/US team.
The restructure follows a year of partner consultations and guidance from external business advisers. It was concluded that NQP enjoyed not one but two distinctive streams of work, being trust and fiduciary, and legal advisory. As the firm has grown, it was agreed that the two areas have greater potential for growth if they operate as separate businesses.
To fulfil this strategy, from 12 October 2020, NQP will be predominantly a Trust, Fiduciary and Family Office business and be known as simply New Quadrant. At the same time Zo√´ Camp will move with the majority of the non-Trust related advisory work and join Harbottle & Lewis, a leading UK-based law firm focused on the Private Client and Technology, Media and Entertainment sectors. Zo√´ and her team will enhance the existing stellar Private Client team at Harbottle & Lewis and further strengthen the firm’s broader Private Capital offering.
Louise Stoten explains further: “We reviewed the business and decided that it was in the best interest of our clients and our staff to make some important commercial decisions. For ten years we have enjoyed two key and successful revenue streams but now it makes sense to separate these two parts to allow greater opportunity for growth and success. With this restructure, we believe we now have the right balance and focus for New Quadrant to stand out as a leading fiduciary and family office services provider in the UK domestic trust market.”
Zo√´ Camp adds: “When looking for a new partnership and home for our clients, it was important to find a firm known for its excellence in the services relevant to our client base. Harbottle & Lewis has the desired combination of first-class lawyers and exceptional client care. We have spent the last year getting to know the team and have been greatly impressed by Harbottle’s collaborative culture and proactive and innovative approach, all of which will be hugely beneficial to our clients and our continued success.”
Glen Atchison, Managing Partner at Harbottle & Lewis agrees: “We are delighted to welcome Zo√´ and her wider team to Harbottle & Lewis. As market leaders in private client and across media and entertainment, the synergies with Zo√´ and her team are excellent and we will provide the perfect environment for this team to grow their practices. Zo√´’s stellar reputation in the private client field will also further enhance the standing of our existing private client team We are looking forward to working closely with the newly structured New Quadrant and see great opportunities to work collaboratively.”
The restructure of New Quadrant and the move of the team to Harbottle & Lewis will be effective from 12 October 2020.
