PIMFA, the leading trade association for wealth management, investment services, and the personal investment and financial advice industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Sage-Bell as its new Senior Policy Advisor.
Julia has joined PIMFA from M&G Wealth Platform, where she has been the Chief Compliance Officer since 2021. Julia has worked in financial services her whole career, with the majority of that time spent in compliance roles. She has extensive experience in managing teams in advisory, monitoring, and training and competence. She has experience working in a range of firms, from small advice businesses to life companies, working on projects such as MiFID II, IDD and more recently, Consumer Duty. Julia is also a Member of the International Compliance Association, having attained her diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance.
As the Senior Policy Advisor, Julia will collaborate closely with the PIMFA platform and discretionary fund manager (DFM) members to develop and advance relevant policy positions and enhance the voice of platforms and DFMs during an anticipated period of regulatory and legislative change. She will also provide comprehensive support across a wide range of member compliance matters, ensuring the industry’s adherence to regulatory standards is upheld and engaging with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Government.
PIMFA Chief Executive Liz Field commented: “I am thrilled to welcome Julia to PIMFA. Her extensive experience and expertise will undoubtedly be a significant asset to PIMFA and our members as we navigate a period of change in politics, a fast-moving regulatory agenda, and what is still a challenging market environment. Julia’s background and extremely strong credentials made her an obvious choice as we better represent the evolving business models of our members and ensure that they are represented externally. Her appointment is a testament to our commitment at PIMFA to providing the best possible support to our members and the industry as a whole.”
Julia Sage-Bell, Senior Policy Adviser at PIMFA, said: “I’ve been a strong supporter of PIMFA for many years, and as a trade association, I have firsthand witnessed the value it provides members in an increasingly complex and fast-moving compliance and regulatory landscape. I am excited to join the association and contribute to helping members tackle the challenges and many opportunities that lie ahead with a positive outlook for the future.”
