IQ-EQ appoints Head of Client Development in USA
Leading global investor services group IQ-EQ has announced the appointment of Wendy Piergolam as its Head of Client Development for the United States. This newly created position reflects the significance of the region to the group’s growth strategy and directly supports plans to expand its Americas offering and client base throughout 2021 and beyond.
In her new role, experienced financial services professional Wendy will operate primarily under the banner of IQ-EQ subsidiary brand, Blue River, which became part of the group following its acquisition earlier this year.
Blue River is well-known within the U.S. funds industry as a leading provider of outsourced solutions to alternative asset managers, with a 200-strong team servicing more than 500 clients across the U.S. from its offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, New York City, Chicago and San Francisco.
Wendy brings to the business an impressive career history spanning roles in Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg and New York City, where she worked for world-leading financial services providers including two of the largest global administrators. After starting out in accounting, where she was responsible for the financial reporting of private equity and real estate clients, Wendy has since spent 10 years specialising in strategic business development and relationship management.
She joins the Blue River team in New York City from a prominent international professional services firm, where she was head of the New York office, responsible for the local operations and North American business development. Before that, Wendy was a senior business developer focused on private equity and real estate investments with a global business services provider, and ultimately heading up the firm’s International Desk, which focused on supporting global clients with their U.S. market entry.
As Head of Client Development, Wendy will focus primarily on building relationships between IQ-EQ and the world’s leading fund managers, while enhancing cross-sell and collaboration across the group.
Commenting on her appointment, Wendy said: “I am delighted to be re-joining IQ-EQ after having previously spent two years with the Amsterdam business. Of course, the group has grown impressively and changed a lot since then! I am excited by its ambitious goals for the U.S. market and by its service proposition, which goes far beyond the traditional fund administration services. Having local teams across different States backed by IQ-EQ’s global offering and track record in many of the world’s key financial services jurisdictions presents a fantastic opportunity and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to become part of the business again and contribute to the continued growth of IQ-EQ, Blue River and the wider IQ-EQ U.S. funds business.
President of IQ-EQ U.S. Funds, Mickey Minces, further commented: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Wendy to IQ-EQ and the Blue River team. We have ambitious plans to continue building our profile and presence across the United States, and having Wendy on board marks a significant milestone on this journey. I very much look forward to working with her and the wider team to achieve our growth objectives and take our business to new heights within the world’s largest and fastest growing fund administration and regulatory compliance market.”
