Grace La Margna St Moritz to reopen its doors in winter 2022/2023
The iconic St. Moritz hotel La Margna, which dates from 1906, reopens this winter as a stylish lifestyle property with an urban feel. Seamlessly blending contemporary design and architecture with the significant historical background of Art Nouveau, the hotel will open its doors under the new name Grace La Margna St Moritz.

Striking a balance between conservative and innovative, old and young, calm and dynamic, was the challenge for London-based Divercity Architects and architects Blarer & Reber from Samedan, Switzerland. The result? A discreet extension, deliberately unobtrusive, that blends harmoniously into the alpine landscape and allows the original architecture to shine. As a symbol of local tourism and of the surrounding townscape, the hotel sits majestically above the local railway station, with a panoramic view over Lake St. Moritz. Thanks to an investment of over 70 million Swiss Francs, the trendy hotel will now see the addition of a new, modern extension with new rooms and an extensive spa area, next to the original historic Art Nouveau building.
The luxury boutique hotel will be divided into two parts: the historic LA MARGNA WING and the modern GRACE WING. Among the 74 spacious rooms and suites, will be the Grace Penthouse Suite, with three bedrooms, private roof terrace and its own jacuzzi. Food concepts will range from restaurants with a show kitchen and pizza oven, through to fine dining. The lobby bar, the heart of the hotel, is set to become a new St. Moritz hotspot, offering a vibrant space for guests and international travellers to mingle with the local crowds. Here, cocktail culture meets live music and modern spirits meet theatrical performances.
The 700sqm avant-garde design spa has a 20-metre pool, light-flooded rooms and mountain views. There are also two saunas, a hammam, a private spa suite and a spa lounge. A fitness area comes complete with the latest equipment, and there is a ski room with maintenance service.
The reopening under the new name Grace La Margna St Moritz, scheduled for winter 2022/2023, will also pave the way for exclusive brand collaborations and local partnerships, driven by the hotel’s connection to the local community in St. Moritz and to Switzerland in general, as well as its uncompromising dedication to high-quality standards.
Open year round, rooms at the GRACE LA MARGNA ST MORITZ start from 450,00 Swiss Francs, based on two sharing with breakfast. For more information, please visit http://www.gracestmoritz.ch/
