2022 marks the 160th anniversary of Ladurée. In 1862, Louis-Ernest Ladurée opened a bakery in the Madeleine, a district of luxury craftsmen, but it is in 1930 when the Parisian pastry chef Pierre Desfontaines, a cousin of the creator of Maison Ladurée, had the ingenious idea of assembling two macaron shells, garnished with a tasty ganache, giving birth to the Parisian macaron as we know it today.

Crossing the Channel and establishing itself at Harrods in London, in addition to setting off to Japan, New York and Dubai, Maison Ladurée is now recognized as an ambassador of the Parisian macaron all over the world.
