Fladgate hires Rebecca Cockcroft, former head of family law at Payne Hicks Beach
Fladgate LLP has bolstered its Family Law team with the appointment of Rebecca Cockcroft as Partner.

Rebecca, who will lead the Family team at Fladgate, joins after a decade at Payne Hicks Beach, where she was Head of Family Law from 2019 to 2024. Rebecca will be reunited with her former Payne Hicks Beach colleagues, Catherine Costley and Joshua Moger who joined Fladgate as partners in December last year. She is also joined by Shivani Kerai who is an associate in the Family Law team. Rebecca has over 25 years of experience and is an expert in all areas of Family Law, with wide ranging specialisms including divorce, matrimonial finance, children, cohabitation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and Hague Convention cases. Rebecca regularly advises on complex financial cases particularly those involving disputes or with international dimensions.
Rebecca has experience and knowledge running complex litigation and navigating sensitive matters across a diverse client list, representing high profile individuals, entrepreneurs, professionals and homemakers. The quality of Rebecca’s work has received many industry accolades and most recently she was ranked in the Hall of Fame category in the Legal 500 2024.
Rebecca joins existing Family Law partners Hetty Gleave, Teresa Cullen, Catherine Costley and Joshua Moger. She brings the total number of partners at Fladgate to 99, following the appointment of Thomas Karalis as a partner in its International Arbitration practice in July.
Rebecca’s skills dovetail with Fladgate’s Private Wealth offering, building on the existing strengths within the team and working closely with them to deliver a holistic service for Fladgate’s private clients.
