Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2024 – USA winners announced
The Citywealth Powerwomen Awards USA 2024 took place last night in New York City, at the Deutsche Bank Centre in the heart of Manhattan.
Celebrating women’s achievements
The awards – highlighting individuals and companies that promote female leadership and support career progression of women within the wealth management sector – were originally created over ten years ago in London by Karen Jones, multi-award winning CEO and founder of Citywealth. They were recently extended to the USA so as to include women in North America and to recognise their outstanding achievements.
The event was hosted by Jan Hopkins – former MD of Citigroup Private Bank and anchor of the daily CNN Financial News show “Street Sweep” from the New York Stock Exchange – who announced the winners.
They had been selected from a shortlist of over a hundred candidates drawn up by ten judges, all prominent figures from the wealth industry. Additional online voting was verified by an independent third party.
A total of twenty Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards were announced with two further awards, the Editor’s Choice Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award handed out first. In addition, four inspirational women scooped the Career Achievement Award, as the judges felt they were all equally worthy of recognition in this category.
International Women’s Month
With International Women’s Day just a few days earlier, and the celebration of women continuing during the whole month of March in the USA, Karen Jones made an impassioned speech. She commented “it is a pleasure to recognise female leadership in both New York and London. The women and men being recognised have shaped the financial service industry we know today, making it fairer and more sustainable. As we remember great leaders in history, we are also delighted to recognise those who lead now. Congratulations to our winners and nominees.”
