Tell Citywealth readers a bit about your role

“As COO, I oversee all aspects of operations and technology for our wealth management business. I’m also responsible for driving initiatives that enhance these areas, aligned to our strategic objectives”

What does a typical day look like for you?

“With a very broad range of responsibilities, no two days are the same. What I can be sure of though is a good mix of strategic implementation and operational oversight. A single day can involve project status meetings, relationship calls with 3rd party suppliers, supporting the team with resolving client queries and even replacing a broken keyboard and mouse”

Tell us about some recent, interesting client instructions/requests you have received

“The recent growth of our international businesses has ensured my team and I have been kept busy expanding our offshore custody arrangements and launching Irish domiciled funds for our clients to use”

What challenges do your clients face and how are you helping them to overcome them?

“Client’s want clarity, reassurance, speed, transparency, and the confidence that their personal data is safe. As COO, my role is to build the operational backbone that delivers that experience consistently. Blending secure digital tools with personal service, reducing friction, and ensuring clients feel informed, protected, and genuinely cared for. Operational excellence is what turns good advice into a trusted long‑term relationship.”

What is your proudest professional achievement?

“Taking on the role of COO at Bentley Reid has to be my proudest professional achievement. It’s the culmination of the blood, sweat and tears of every success and every learning in my journey to date. It’s been a privilege to take on the role of COO for a company with such a high pedigree”

What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?

“Integrity, adaptability, and the ability to inspire trust. A great leader is consistent, authentic, empowers their team and stays calm under pressure.”

Who do you most admire and why?

“I have a long list so I will opt for the latest one I’ve added after reading his autobiography recently – Gareth Southgate. His ability to stay composed under intense scrutiny, foster unity, and lead with integrity demonstrates all the great leadership qualities that I mentioned previously”

Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?

“A multigenerational family Safari holiday in South Africa to celebrate both of my in-laws turning 70 years old last year. Seeing the big 5 (and a whole lot more) during 24 hours of bush drives. It was trip of a lifetime and one I would thoroughly recommend to everyone”

If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?

“Something within the music industry I suspect. I was involved in several areas of the industry many years ago and the passion remains”

How do you relax after a long day?

“When not picking up my daughter from one of her dance/theatre classes or coaching my son’s football team, I like to relax by playing football myself, getting stuck into the latest TV series recommendations and discovering new music”

If you could recommend one person in the private wealth industry who would it be, and what would you say about them?

“I’m going to cheat on this one. With a small firm especially, highly talented individuals are integral to its success and growth. Bentley Reid is no exception, and all my colleagues are supremely talented, ethical, and client focussed “
