Big Give launches £10m Earth Raise campaign to double donations for 330+ environmental charities
Big Give, the UK’s leading match-funding platform, has today launched Earth Raise 2026, a nationwide fundraising campaign aiming to raise over £10 million for more than 330 environmental charities in just one week.

As the UK and global communities face escalating environmental challenges from nature loss to extreme weather, the need for urgent collective action has never been clearer.
Running from 22–29 April, every donation made through the platform will be doubled, thanks to a record-breaking £5 million in match funding from a coalition of major philanthropic partners. This includes a £1 million contribution from Postcode Green Trust, supported by Postcode Lottery players, alongside The Garfield Weston Foundation, The Reed Foundation, AKO Foundation and other generous contributions.
At a time when environmental charities are facing rising demand and increasing financial pressure, the campaign offers a simple, powerful proposition: donate, and your donation will be doubled, supporting proven solutions already working to protect and restore the planet.
Earth Raise brings together hundreds of organisations working across climate, conservation and environmental justice, from grassroots community groups to national charities, in a coordinated national moment of action, tackling urgent challenges spanning nature restoration, wildlife protection, water systems, climate change and community resilience.
This year, Big Give is activating a new digital-first campaign model designed to reach and engage wider audiences. Central to this is the “Pass the Mic” movement, which sees creators and public figures use their platforms to advocate for environmental causes and drive donations.
Creators and celebrities, including Jordan Stephens (Rizzle Kicks), Megan McCubbin, Deborah Meaden, Tasha Ghouri, Tristan Phipps and others will share content throughout the week, turning complex environmental issues into engaging, human stories that inspire action and encourage their audiences to give.
For the duration of the campaign, all public donations made via Big Give will be matched pound for pound by Champion funders, doubling the impact of every gift and unlocking vital funding for environmental charities.
Since 2021, Big Give has raised over £23 million for environmental causes through Earth Raise (formerly the Green Match Fund). Last year, 94% of participating organisations received donations from entirely new supporters, while 93% reported increased confidence in digital fundraising.
With its biggest campaign to date, Earth Raise 2026 aims to reach new audiences, drive participation at scale, and unlock critical funding for the planet.
Participating charities include leading organisations such as Surfers Against Sewage, Friends of the Earth, The Wildlife Trusts, Rewilding Britain and EarthPercent, alongside hundreds of grassroots groups working at the heart of their communities and across the world.
James Reed, Chairman of Big Give, said: Earth Raise is about turning concern into action at a critical moment for the planet. We’re seeing the impacts of climate change and nature loss more clearly than ever, but we’re also seeing the solutions and the organisations driving them.
This campaign gives people a simple, powerful way to be part of that, with every donation doubled. By bringing together charities, funders, the public and influential voices, we’re creating a national moment that can unlock funding at scale and accelerate positive change.”
Laura Chow, Head of Charities, Postcode Lottery: “Postcode Lottery players will be supporting Earth Raise 2026 with an incredible £1 million in match funding, ensuring funding will go twice as far in helping frontline environmental protection charities across the UK. Bringing together hundreds of charities, this campaign is a powerful example of how collective action can drive real change for people and the planet.”
Nick Gardener, Executive Director, Environmental Funders Network, said: Environmental charities are doing vital work in increasingly challenging conditions, often with limited resources. Initiatives like Earth Raise play a crucial role in unlocking funding, building resilience and helping organisations reach new supporters. The scale and collaborative nature of this campaign show what’s possible when funders, platforms and the public come together.
Big Give ambassador, TV presenter and environmentalist Deborah Meaden said: ‘Big Give’s Earth Raise has grown to become the biggest environmental fundraising campaign in the UK.
‘Sometimes people feel helpless to know what to do about the environment, such is the scale of the challenges we face, so this is a great way to take tangible action and support the causes you care about. ‘There are hundreds of different charities working on everything from nature conservation to climate to water quality taking part this year.
‘I hope anyone who cares about the environment will log on to biggive.org while the campaign is live from April 22 to April 29, when their money will be doubled. It’s a brilliant way to make your generosity go twice as far.’
