Private Client review:
Rangers instructed Ryan and his team at Kingsley Napley on a vital piece of litigation for all at Ibrox. The proceedings were brought by Sports Direct with the full weight and support of a then FTSE 100 company under the personal control of Mike Ashley. The action brought by Sports Direct would have resulted in Rangers Chairman spending up to two years in jail if Sports Direct's tactics had succeeded. Ryan marshalled a tremendous defence to the action and played a pivotal role in devising and employing the strategic response which resulted in the action brought by Sports Direct being thrown out by the courts as an abuse of process. Ryan is clear-headed and engaging with a keen focus on achieving the result the client wants (and demands). I would highly recommend him for his attention to detail and ability to grasp the essentials of even the most complex case. Being prepared is a keynote for any litigator with Ryan on your side it is also a winning strategy for even the most demanding client.

Case Studies
Ryan Mowat currently acts for a well known ultra-high net worth family in relation to multi-jurisdictional litigation with the wider family, the outcome of which will ultimately determine who will have control over what of the billion-pound family empire and assets possibly for generations. The litigation is vast and convoluted largely because of the sheer size of the asset base and the complex corporate and trust structures in place, as well as the other parties‘ efforts to hide or diminish assets that now need to be traced.
The family are also using Kingsley Napley for related advice from other teams within the firm including Private Client, Criminal, Corporate and Reputation Management.
