Finding yourself in need of a break? Why not book onto an award-winning yoga retreat at  Ananda in the Himalayas.

New for summer 2019, the award-winning Ananda in the Himalayas is launching a series of group yoga retreats, running between May and August. The six-night Ananda Yoga Retreat provides an opportunity to understand and practice the traditional yogic methods of Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation in a scenic and natural environment.

All the sessions will be conducted as group activities, with individual attention and time with the teachers for each participant factored in. Each morning opens with a two-hour yoga practice, including Asana, Pranayama and Mantra chanting. Daily theory sessions will address Yogic philosophy and concepts, while meditation sessions will assist in the relaxation of body and mind.

The retreat also includes an Ayurvedic wellness consultation, orientation and yoga consultation, a Neti cleansing, two spiritual ‘Kirtan’ sessions, one signature Ayurvedic therapy and all meals. In addition, participants will enjoy a trip to the holy town of Rishikesh – the birthplace of yoga – to attend the atmospheric Ganga Aarti Ceremony and visit the Sivananda Ashram.

Each of the four group retreats, capped at a maximum of 15 people, will run over six nights on the following dates.

26 May – 01 June

23 – 29 June

07 – 13 Jul

25 – 31 August

The new Group Yoga Retreats cost from USD 2,000pp, based on two sharing.
