Music group Sister Sledge are to headline the Collars & Coats Gala Ball on Thursday 3 November, bringing their R’n’B and disco hits to one of the most talked about charity fundraisers of the year in aid of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
Performing their hits Lost In Music, He’s The Greatest Dancer, We Are Family, Rise and Shine, as well as performing to their new single Woman are the Music of the World which has become an anthem for women and girl empowerment, the trio of Debbie, Kim, and Joni Sledge will lead a dazzling line up of entertainment at Battersea Evolution.
The unmissable Collars & Coats Gala Ball, now in its eighth year, is world-renowned for gathering some of the biggest names in entertainment to celebrate the incredible work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. For one, very special night each year, guests join stars of stage, screen, music and sport to experience the best red carpet event in the world, welcomed by dozens of the charity’s rescue dogs in Battersea’s world-famous Doggy Guard of Honour.
Battersea chief executive Claire Horton said: “Every year Battersea’s Collars & Coats Gala Ball gets even bigger and better and in 2016 we’ll raise the roof and set the dance floor on fire with the incredible Sister Sledge headlining the night. We know the sisters are huge dog lovers and will have to tear themselves away from our line-up of homeless dogs on the red carpet. We’re thrilled to have such an amazing band join us to raise much needed funds and can’t wait to see them fill the dancefloor with their unforgettable hits.”
“The Collars & Coats Gala Ball is all about helping Battersea transform even more lives and give hope to thousands of dogs and cats every year. The event will introduce some of the charity’s former residents that have been given a vital lifeline and give supporters a chance to bid for money-can’t buy exclusive auction prizes with the monies raised helping dogs and cats in need.”
