Top tech business women spell out the issues facing female leaders: Thursday July 5th 2007
Female business leaders from across Europe will address critical issues facing women in the workplace at the second Leadership for Women in Technology conference in London next week.
Speakers include Dr Louise Makin, CEO, BTG Plc (medical technology), Isabel Aguilera, CEO, Google Spain, Dr Val Singh, Corporate Diversity Manager and Deputy Director, International Centre for Women Business Leaders, Julia Payne, CEO, Centre for High Performance Development and Charmaine Eggberry, VP, Enterprise Business Unit, Research in Motion (RIM).
They will be joined by panels of eminent women who will examine the issues facing women leaders and suggest solutions.
The day long conference is being held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Thursday 5th July and is sponsored by companies like Bloomberg.
Some highlights include looking at how sex-role stereotyping of leadership presents a hurdle for female business leaders and succession and advancement. Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, Director, Diafora will look at gender as a business rather than a women’s issue.
The panel include Anne Widdop, Engagement and Business Integration Services Director, IBM UK and Prof Lynda Gratton who will discuss bringing more women into the pipeline and on to top board level. There will also be personal experiences shared about leadership in technology driven companies.
