The Tigray Trust raising money for Are Bahri project in Ethiopia
The Tigray Trust hold regular cocktail parties to charity fund raise for the Are Bahri project. Run by Janet Slee who is sister to Andrew Logan the famed jeweller and founder of the Alternative Miss World contest, Janet asks her book of friends in the art and jewellery world to donate gifts to raffle and sell off. So far proceeds have bought chickens which lay more eggs than Ethiopian chickens and the next plan is to buy bee hives because “Ethiopian honey is very good.” They were also delighted to have vegetable seeds donated to the trust which have since been used to grow corn and chilli’s locally. Janet Slee visits regularly and is planning a trip this Xmas.
