Suzanne Mynors, Private Client team
Law firm Russell-Cooke has announced the promotion of four senior associates to partner. The four new partners are Suzanne Mynors in the Private Client team, Thomas Bond in the Insolvency and Restructuring team, Jemma Pollock in the Family team, and Carla Whalen in the Charity and Social Business team.
Suzanne Mynors, Private Client team
Suzanne Mynors qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and joined Russell-Cooke’s Private Client team in Putney in February 2020. She has almost 25 years’ experience advising clients in relation to wills and succession planning, probate and estate administration, inheritance tax planning, powers of attorney and court of protection matters for those lacking mental capacity.
Suzanne has acted on complex estate administrations including assets in foreign jurisdictions, multiple property interests, and problematic life time gifts and challenging family dynamics. She provides estate planning advice for vulnerable people such as children with additional needs and regularly advises on trusts and tax matters.
Thomas Bond, Insolvency and Restructuring team
Thomas Bond qualified in 2013 and joined the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring practice in January 2018. Thomas acts for creditors, insolvency practitioners, company directors and those facing bankruptcy, dealing with all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency.
His experience bringing claims for insolvency practitioners means Thomas is well placed to defend claims brought by liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy and he often acts for directors and individuals in bankruptcy (and their families) to defend claims and resolve disputes.
Jemma Pollock, Family team
Jemma Pollock trained at Russell-Cooke, qualifying into the family team in September 2013. She became a senior associate in 2019. She advises clients on a broad range of family matters including divorce and financial matters following separation, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and private law children matters. Her experience includes working not only for couples who are married or cohabiting, but also for wider family members, business partners and joint property owners.
Jemma is an active member of Resolution, the organisation for family law professionals, and is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in cases involving complex financial remedies upon separation and financial provision for children.
Carla Whalen, Charity and Social Business team
Carla Whalen qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and joined Russell-Cooke as an associate in 2017. She advises charities on people-related matters, including employment rights, discrimination and whistleblowing, trustee conduct and member disputes. She also specialises in data protection for charities and deals with issues surrounding the lawful collection and use of personal data.
Carla supports a range of charities including those working in the arts, education, environment, homelessness, health, social care and international development sectors, as well as professional membership bodies.
These promotions bring the total number of partners at Russell-Cooke to 65.

Suzanne, Thomas, Jemma and Carla are all outstanding practitioners who are committed to delivering the best possible results for their clients and have each built strong reputations in the market for doing so.
We’re also proud that all four new partners, and our seven new senior associates, have benefited from our unique cohort system, which allows our lawyers to develop their skills collectively within a group of their peers, to provide support and collaboration throughout their professional progression.
We look forward to their continuing contributions to the business in their new roles.”
