Osea is a private island in Essex within easy reach of London. For three nights, it will be the venue for the first UK Restival entitled “Sounds of the Sea".
This three-night/four-day retreat takes place from Friday 28 April to Monday 1 May 2017. It is an opportunity to switch off from a busy urban life and rejuvenate both body and mind in the middle of the wilderness.
The “Sounds of the Sea” is set in 400 acres of idyllic countryside and four miles of private beaches and coastline, reached via a Roman built twisting pebble causeway, open only twice a day at low tide. This hideaway has a rich and biodiverse history and spectacular protected wildlife, and attracts those who want to escape from it all. The special weekend is themed around listening to the sea, the birds, nature, other people and simply what your body is telling you.
You can disconnect from technology and participate in workshops such as sound immersions, yoga, gong baths, meditation, spa treatments, story-telling, writing workshops and intuition classes. Finally, you will be able to enjoy live music and foraging with the Island’s chef who will then demonstrate you how to cook your food. Roasting mussels around the campfire whilst listening to Nordic fables in the evening from award winning storyteller Giles Abbott is just one of the experiences to expect. Other evenings will take you on trips around the island to listen to the sounds of the numerous owls who live there.
Restival will feature Leo Cosendai, UK’s gong and yoga specialist; Andres Rodriguez, meditation teacher; Anna Caroline Turk who will host sound circles and Giles Abbott, professional voice coach, storyteller and writing workshop teacher. Life coach Tanya Goddard will host sessions on intuition and one-to-one coaching.
Osea Island is a two-hour drive from London, or a fifty-minute train ride from Liverpool Street to Witham Station. Resival Osea takes place from 28 April to 1 May and tickets cost between £650 and £950 per person, all-inclusive except for travel, coaching and spa treatments.
