Burgenstock Resort will be the first luxury hotel to offer a tennis camp where expert tennis coaches will deliver a program personally created by the Rafa Nadal, which uses the same training methods of the Grand Slam champion.

Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar has created a one-of-a-kind residential tennis camp, taking place at the architecturally award-winning Bürgenstock Resort, Switzerland, suspended dramatically on an Alpine ridge with panoramic views of the tranquil Lake Lucerne.

In a unique setting facing the Alpine valleys, lessons will be held on 22-29 August at the Resort’s Diamond Domes, a masterpiece of modern architecture and home to Bürgenstock Resort’s three Davis Cup-standard hard tennis courts. Expert tennis coaches will deliver a program personally created by the Grand Slam champion, which uses the same training methods that took Nadal to the world number one. The program integrates work on physical fitness, technique, tactics and a winning mentality, to help develop a unique playing identity. Designed to motivate, educate and inspire, it is individually tailored to grow talent, build a consistent game and become a champion competitor.

The Camp is open both to children and adults seeking to advance their tennis skills. Those who have played in the past and are capable to exchange rallies with a partner can improve their game and work on mental training to improve weaknesses. All the family can come together to hone their tennis skills whether a beginner or pro. Small group sessions allow for cross-court action with players at a similar level, as well as plenty of one-to-one focus on different aspects of the game.

The daily two-hour training sessions will cover all the bases, with some focus on the technical execution of the different shots. Other sessions will work on the tactical game, focusing on on-court positioning, directions, attack, defense and counterattack. In addition, real-competition tactical situations will be simulated in order to learn how to focus on the decisive points in a match.

Afternoons are free for guests to immerse themselves in the spectacular resort. Voted the best spa in Switzerland, the Alpine Spa is a majestic modern icon with 10,000 sq meters of restorative wellness. Iron out tight muscles with two spa treatments and two Ice Lab sessions included in each tennis package and relax in the infinity pool that seemingly floats above Lake Lucerne.

With full board included, and seven restaurants and three bars to explore, all culinary desires are satisfied. From award-winning Oak Grill & Pool Patio, which serves up  a Surf ’n Turf of Angus beef and grilled lobster, to Spices Kitchen and Terrace, a pan-Asian eatery famous for its exceptional Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Thai cuisine.

Also included are two guided activities within Bürgenstock Resort’s 60 hectares of pristine Alpine forest. Choose from a 9-hole golf course, water sports, wine tasting, hiking and bike trails. Once a hideaway to Hollywood aces Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren, today guests at the luxury mountaintop resort continue to get the star treatment courtesy of the Rafa Nadal Academy Camp.
