This stunning and unique estate is ideally situated just 6 kms south of the centre of Florence, at the gateway of the beautiful Chianti countryside. The estate is composed of a 14th Century hamlet, surrounded by rolling green hills lined with cypresses, and with 30 acres of vineyards, olive groves, forest and a lake. With views to Florence, the property epitomises the true postcard image of Tuscany! During the XV century, the hamlet was owned by the Ghirlandaio family, the most well-known Renaissance family of painters, and where many apprentices, including Michelangelo, learned the fine art of painting. Many other prominent artists of the Renaissance, including Raffaello, Pontormo and Botticelli, were also entertained here.

Firostefani is regarded as one of the most beautiful villages of Santorini, and conveniently located just half a kilometre away from Fira, the island's capital. The view to the Aegean blue sea, the volcano and the nearby islands is stunning. The village is characterized by its wonderful architecture, combining white and blue, its spectacular views, its churches, its cave-like houses and its narrow streets. It also has a lively nightlife with a wide choice of restaurants, cafes, and shops. The walk from Fira to Firostefani and then to Imerovigli along the edge of the caldera, is one of the most beautiful walks you will find anywhere. It also worth visiting the Petros M. Nomikos Conference Centre, where you will see three-dimensional reproductions of the frescoes from the Akrotiri archaeological site. Aghios Nikolaos Monastery, founded in 1651, also has a historical interest, and is located between Firostefani and Imerovigli.
