Henry Wyndham to auction the Golden Collection from The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt
Sotherby’s Henry Wyndham has handpicked 30 of the most exclusive giant eggs from The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt to be auctioned at The Fabergé Big Egg Banquet on Tuesday 20th March, at the Royal Courts of Justice.
The eggs, known as the Golden Collection, are part of over 200 two and a half foot eggs from The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt. They have been designed by the likes of Zaha Hadid, Mary Katrantzou, Polly Morgan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, Theo Fennell, Marc Quinn, Bruce Oldfield, William Curley, Candy & Candy and Nicky Haslam.
Viewed by thousands, the eggs have become highly collectable works of art in their own right. William Curley’s giant chocolate egg is set to crack the Guinness World Record as the most expensive non-jewelled chocolate egg ever sold.
In addition, an exclusive Fabergé necklace will be auctioned at the event. Le Collier Plume d’Or, is one of a series of unique couture egg pendants created by Fabergé.
The Banquet, hosted by Sarah Fabergé, together with Mark Shand of Elephant Family and Dame Clare Tickell of Action for Children, promises to be a hugely entertaining evening raising vital funds for both charities.
