Geoff Melamet of HMSA gives his predictions for UK General Election
Geoff Melamet, CEO of HMSA, talks about what could the upcoming elections mean to the wealthy clients.
How do you think the election campaign may affect how London is perceived by WM clients?
The election campaign already causes concerns about Labour victory amongst wealthy clients and investors alike, although I’m not noticing any clients being affected yet.
What do you think about the Crown dependencies being brought into the political debate about Wealth?
Whatever the election outcome, any government will find it difficult to implement control over Crown dependencies.
What is a “fair share” of tax and is it an election winning idea?
It’s hard to define what a “fair share‚Äù even means and I think it will have little appeal.
What do you think will be the result?
Conservatives will win narrowly.
What risk and upside do you see?
There is definitely a risk of the National Debt growing in the long run.
Would you say it is a foregone Conservative conclusion?
