To celebrate the end of their 160th Anniversary year and the festive season, French luxury pastry house Ladurée has released a special collection of gift boxes containing a selection of Ladurée’s famous macarons.
2022 marks the 160th anniversary of Ladurée. In 1862, Louis-Ernest Ladurée opened a bakery in the Madeleine, a district of luxury craftsmen, but it is in 1930 when the Parisian pastry chef Pierre Desfontaines, a cousin of the creator of Maison Ladurée, had the ingenious idea of assembling two macaron shells, garnished with a tasty ganache, giving birth to the Parisian macaron as we know it today.
Crossing the Channel and establishing itself at Harrods in London, in addition to setting off to Japan, New York and Dubai, Maison Ladurée is now recognized as an ambassador of the Parisian macaron all over the world.
Since the iconic boutique has been constantly reinventing itself, to celebrate the end of the year, Ladurée released beautifully decorated gift boxes, adorned in blue and gold, displaying a selection of Ladurée’s famous macarons to enjoy during the festive period. The flavours include the brand-new, limited edition Fir Tree macaron composed of white Ivory chocolate cream enhanced by fir essential oil, and the Brioche macaron with its cracky shell and slivered almonds hiding a delicious filling: Opalys/ Dulcey white chocolate with milky nuances and a hint of vanilla, currant, orange, lemon and butter.
The boxes come in four different sizes with a mixture of rich flavours. Available from 2nd November to 31st December 2022 in Ladurée boutiques and online, Christmas gift boxes include: box of 8 (£23.50), box of 16 (£44), box of 24 (£62) and box of 42 (£115).
