Close Brothers Asset Management makes fourth senior appointment to Scotland office

Date: 13 Aug 2019

Close Brothers Asset Management (CBAM) has appointed Alastair Wilson to the role of Managing Director, strengthening the high net worth investment management capability of the firm’s office in Edinburgh, and supporting its ongoing growth.

Alastair has more than thirty years’ experience in financial services. He joins CBAM from Brooks Macdonald, where he was a founding member of the Edinburgh office in 2009. Before Brooks Macdonald, Alastair spent fifteen years as a senior investment director at Adam & Co, where he was a member of the Asset Allocation Committee.

Alastair’s hire is part of the continued strategic growth of CBAM’s Scotland office. It follows the appointment of managing director Christopher Godfrey-Faussett this year, and that of Andrew Mackintosh-Walker, and John Henderson last year, when CBAM established an investment management capability within its Scotland team.

The succession of hires in Scotland is part of a wider strategy to expand and enhance CBAM’s high net worth service across the UK.

Martin Andrew, Chief Executive of Close Brothers Asset Management, said: “Our high net worth proposition is going from strength to strength, and Alastair’s appointment is further evidence of the merit of our offering as we continue to attract the highest calibre of investment professionals.

“The appointment of select, high quality individuals is central to the expansion of our Scotland office, which in turn is a crucial element of our growth plans across the UK. Alastair brings with him tremendous pedigree and expertise; he will support the team in continuing to deliver excellence to our expanding Scottish client-base.”
