Experience classic elegance at the Athénée Palace Hilton hotel, one of Bucharest’s most beautiful buildings set in the heart of the city in the Revolution Square, next to the Romanian Athenaeum and the former Royal Palace (currently the Romanian National Arts Museum), just within a 40-minutes’ drive from Henri Coanda International Airport.

The Romanian capital is rich in historic attractions and vibrant nightlife, and Athénée Palace Hilton is located just steps from both.

Nowhere else in Romania has a hotel come to play such an important role in the political and social life of its people. From crown heads to Second World War spies, diplomats or international journalists, the hotel inspired the heritage of a nation. During its 100-year reign as the sovereign of hospitality in Bucharest, Athénée Palace has maintained a status of legendary magnitudes.

Today, Athénée Palace Hilton has carefully maintained its distinctive character and successfully combined those traditional qualities with the modern hallmark attributes of Hilton's flagship brand, becoming a valuable addition to the Hilton portfolio. This historic landmark continues now the legacy of luxury service and tradition.

The hotel’s construction began in 1914 and it was led by the French architect Teophile Bradeau. The hotel initially had 149 rooms and 10 suites decorated in Louis XIV style imported from France and England. In the ’40s Waldeck Countess wrote about the Athénée Palace as the most cosmopolite scene of Europe, a big name among Europe’s famous hotels attracting this way the members of the royal family and well-known journalists.

The prestigious hotel will exceed your expectations time and time again, while keeping its exquisite grace and charm. Its outstanding lobby, Les Colonnades, with the marble columns and luxurious chandeliers is a symbol of the Belle Époque architecture. With flexible and modern conference rooms, the hotel is the ideal venue for successful business meetings, decadent celebrations, and receptions for up to 900 guests. The awe-inspiring Le Diplomate Ballroom, a national heritage monument, represents a remarkable space for a wide range of events.

The hotel offers a Business Centre, free Wi-Fi in the entire building, and complimentary access to a 24-hour, fully-equipped Fitness Centre and to a Health Club that displays an indoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna and steam bath. Guests are invited to enjoy luxurious treatments in the hotel’s beauty centre featuring La Prairie’s exclusive Swiss products or to relax with a massage.

The Athénée Palace Hilton offers 272 luxurious guestrooms and suites: 133 guestrooms, forty-six deluxe rooms, thirty-six executive rooms, forty-one junior suites and sixteen suites, with stunning views overlooking the city or the hotel courtyard. All guest rooms and suites provide free Wi-Fi and in-room dining, premium bedding and pillow menus, large work desks and complimentary bathroom hygiene products. Guests may also find conveniences like sitting areas and coffee makers, bathrobes and slippers.

For business needs, the hotel offers thirteen meeting spaces, including the historic Le Diplomate Ballroom, and a large terrace which is perfect for fresh coffee breaks or for glamorous evening receptions. All throughout the meeting spaces the hotel offers free Wi-Fi access and top meeting amenities and stationary. Moreover, the hotel offers more informal meeting facilities in its restaurants or on Hilton Meetings Terrace, in venues that can be customized according to guests’ every desire.

Le Diplomate Ballroom is one of the best preserved halls in the country and is listed as a historic monument, recognized as National Heritage. This hall hosts up to 350 guests, and together with the outside lobby, Les Colonnades, and the opposite multi-purpose Regina Maria hall, provides the perfect setting for a welcome reception or a grandiose event of hundreds of people.

Do as much or as little as you like at the Athénée Palace Hilton. Savour French specialties at the famous Café Athénée or sample flavours of the authentic Italian cuisine at Roberto’s. English Bar offers a great selection of old whiskies in a peaceful ambience, while La Strada terrace features refreshing dishes and cocktails during spring and summer months.
