Interview with Beatrice Puoti, Partner at Burges Salmon
Beatrice Puoti, partner at Burges Salmon LLP, is ranked as one of the UK legal community’s best lawyers, and has won the Lawyer of the Year award at the 2015 Citywealth Magic Circle Awards. She has also been included in the Citywealth Leading Lawyers Honours List 2015.
Lecturing in the UK and overseas, Beatrice specialises in international tax and estate planning for UK and non-UK clients and cross:-boarder planning issues. Citywealth’s, Suzanne Isaacs caught up with Beatrice to talk about her successful career.
How did it feel to win the Lawyer of the Year award?
I was overjoyed and surprised, especially as I was chosen from so many outstanding, talented and clever individuals. I am happy for myself, the team and the firm.
What is your particular area of expertise in the firm?
I am the head of the firm’s International Tax and Trust team, although as a senior partner, I also have an involvement in management. Part of our culture at Burges Salmon is that everybody gets involved in the running of the firm.
What else does the firm specialise in?
We are a large commercial firm, dealing with all areas of advice for institutions, companies and individuals. We are well known for our expertise in markets such as nuclear energy and transport. Something that we as a firm are very proud of is our involvement in raising money for local charities and I am always keen to be involved in running these events.
What was your favourite fundraising event?
