Karen Jones - Chairwoman

Karen founded Citywealth after a career at News International, The Times, and Sunday Times in the legal, financial and recruitment sections. She also ran the Legalease flagship title Legal Business/Asia Pacific Legal 500, and launched Legal Business Awards and Legal 500 parties. Karen then took over In Brief magazine, where she grew the organisation from a buyout where it had gone bankrupt to a successful £500,000-a-year publishing and events business. Her work as a Citywealth CEO was recognised by four New York Stevie Awards: Women helping women (2014, 2015), Innovator of the year (2015), and Entrepreneur of the year (2015).

Hazar El-Chamaa
Penningtons Manches Cooper

Hazar is a partner in Penningtons Manches Cooper’s immigration team and heads the firm’s private wealth immigration offering. Her work mainly involves investor and entrepreneur applications and complex individual applications under nationality, immigration and European law. Her work with HNW and UHNW individuals can regularly cross over into other sector groups within the firm in which she is also involved such as the sports and entertainment group. Hazar is about to complete her ninth year as a trustee of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association, where she is able to influence immigration rule and policy changes. She is a regular speaker at external events and publishes articles on immigration rules and policy changes. Hazar is ranked in Chambers, Legal 500, Who’s Who and the Citywealth Leaders list.

Trevor Warmington
Rawlinson & Hunter

Trevor began his career at a Big Four accountancy firm, joined Rawlinson & Hunter in 2010 and became a Partner of the Firm in 2017. Trevor provides personal UK tax advice to wealthy international individuals in the UK. He endeavours to work alongside UK and international legal advisers, bankers, and Family Offices to offer his clients joined-up advice which is tax-efficient within a wider commercial context. Trevor has wide experience and detailed knowledge of the UK tax rules for remittance basis users. He regularly advises on non-UK bank account and investment structuring, overseas workday relief for internationally mobile workers, offshore trust planning and real estate holding structures. He has a particular specialism in the complex area of the taxation of non-UK life assurance policies.

Jessica Roland
Managing Partner

Jessica Roland is the Guernsey Managing Partner and a partner in the litigation team. Jessica's practice involves advising some of the island's largest institutions involved in significant commercial and trust disputes. Jessica is part of the team representing the former trustees in the TDT litigation including achieving Privy Council success in the landmark decision for trustees in the Channel Islands and undertaking the advocacy successfully striking out claims worth in excess of $400million in the same actions. Jessica is renowned for giving clear sound advice and calm and effective advocacy as well as her ability to manage a large and complex litigation. Jessica appears in the Citywealth's Leaders List annually.

Harry Hare-Scott
Senior Manager

Harry specialises in tax planning for private clients covering all areas of personal taxation and has significant experience in working with them to develop wealth holding structures. His clients include large international families, family businesses and private equity executives. Harry is also experienced in tax planning for trustees of trusts, both in the UK and overseas. Harry joined EY in 2010 and is based in the London office, though has spent time working in their Bristol and Dubai offices. Harry has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation since 2013.

Salpy Kouyoumjian

Salpy Kouyoumjian is a Partner at Boodle Hatfield. She has a strong international client base and specialises in providing international tax and structuring advice to ultra-high net worth entrepreneurs (and the trustees and financial institutions who service them) in relation to their multi-jurisdictional private and business assets. She has extensive expertise in advising clients from the Middle East, Russia and CIS and the on international and cross border taxation, long-term asset protection/risk management and family/business governance. She has considerable experience in designing and establishing bespoke international asset-holding and wealth management structures including private trust companies, limited partnerships, family offices, pooled investment vehicles and investment management/advisory structures. Salpy also has extensive expertise in Sharia compliant wealth structuring. She is fluent in Arabic, French and Armenian.

Tim Childe

Tim has over 32 years’ experience in the investment management industry, the last 29 years at Quilter Cheviot. Tim is experienced in managing investment portfolios for charities, family trusts and private clients. Tim Childe is the Managing Director of Quilter Cheviot, Head of International and Head of the Jersey office. He is also a Member of the Quilter Cheviot Executive Forum and Trustee of The Quilter Foundation. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and Chartered Wealth Manager. He has been named by Citywealth as the Private Banker/Investment Manager of the year, for the Channel Islands, and Isle of Man, in the 2019 IFC Awards. He was also named in the Citywealth Leaders list in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018. Tim is authorised by the JFSC, GFSC, FCA (UK) and the FSB (South Africa).

Sarajane Kempster
RBC Wealth Management

Sarajane Kempster is a Director for RBC Wealth Management’s fiduciary business in the British Isles. Based in Jersey, Sarajane leads a team of fiduciary specialists in addition to managing the interests of a portfolio of private clients. She specialises in establishing and managing offshore structures for high net worth individuals and their families, with a particular focus on those connected to the Middle East. She also has experience in addressing the wealth management and estate planning needs of clients from the UK and globally. Born and educated in Jersey, Sarajane spent 10 years managing the offshore dealing and registration operation of a prominent fund management company. In 1997 she became a director and member of the management team of Mourant Private Wealth, which was acquired by RBC in 2009. Outside of work, Sarajane enjoys dancing, choreography, theatre and spending time with her family.

Grant Barbour
Regional Head - Private Client

Grant leads Ocorian's European Private Client services team. He works with ultra-high net worth (UHNW) individuals and their structures, as well as large corporate clients, where he has particular expertise in employee benefit trusts. Whilst non-practicing, Grant is a qualified English solicitor, Jersey advocate and South African attorney and was previously a partner with an international law firm. During this period, he advised UHNW individuals, major banks, corporates, and international trust companies on all aspects of trust and corporate law. Grant has been acknowledged in the "Honours List" in the "Leading Trustees" category in the Citywealth Leaders List between the years of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017, and in the "Honours List" in the "Leading Lawyers" category between 2012-15.

Charles Humpleby

Director of Family Office and Funds in Jersey, reporting to the Managing Director of Barclays, Channel Islands and a member of the CI leadership team. I am based in Jersey, and will work together with colleagues in Private Bank & Overseas Services (PB&OS) and Barclays International to support the growing number of family offices and funds based businesses. Credited with inspiring leadership and building diverse and highly effective teams, by using strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to engage and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to deliver creative client solutions and enable the delivery of financial results and strategic goals. Professionally accredited with the Executive Officer license (HKMA) and financial advisory qualifications from international jurisdictions including: Jersey, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. And more recently attaining the Financial Times Non-Executive Diploma – Pearson SBF BTEC level 7 Advanced professional Diploma. Recently appointed the bank's school ambassador in Jersey, which will enable me to share the growth of Barclays across the island schools and further integrate the bank into the school community. In doing so, I will create significant value which helps demonstrate Barclays’ value to society and our investment in its future prosperity. Diversity and Inclusion is also close to my heart and by putting forward myself to be country head for the D&I team in Jersey, I will work closely with the D&I leadership team in the UK to promote and better understand how we promote ourselves as a leader in D&I in Jersey.
