Future Leaders Awards Submissions & Nominations

Submissions are now open. Closing date is 15th April 2019.

A fee of £250 + VAT will be applied to each entry sent after the deadline. 

 

General Guidelines

 

Entrants are open to individuals aged 40 years and under at the time of submission. 

 

All individuals, will be asked to submit their answers to the following questions. If you would like to recommend someone, simply send their name, contact details and a 250 word paragraph explaining why they should be considered a Future Leader. 

 

For all self nominations or nominations from a marketing team, send in 1000 words answering these 6 questions, which will also automatically be considered for our Future Leaders editorial.

 

  • What was the most interesting deal or case you worked on in the last 12 months? (examples include tax planning for a nunnery or helping a person through an abusive divorce)
  • Which other responsibilities within the organization do you hold? (examples different committees/mentoring trainees/CSR)
  • Do you have any hobbies outside of work? (not a requirement of judging, for instance if candidate has children).
  • Can you let us know of any philanthropy or charitable causes you support personally?
  • Do you have a funny story or anecdote to share from your work experience? 
  • Lastly, please provide a supporting quote from a senior person within the organization (maximum 200 words)

 

The judges

 

An independent panel of industry judges determines the winners.

Additionally, the shortlist is published online and online voting will take place. The online vote carries the weight of one additional judge.

  • Accountant of the Year - Assistant Manager/Associate (Boutique; Mid-size; Large/Institutional)

    The award in this section will be judged against three key criteria: Strategic Planning; Profitability/ Growth and Individual Improvements. For strategic planning we will look at what makes work stand out against competitors and look at what KPI's have been achieved during the last twelve months. For Profitability/ Growth we will look at how you have helped with financial improvements like fee income; winning new clients and client retention. We will also consider new client wins. For Individual improvements we will consider rewards, industry recognition, personal achievements and work with the wider community.

  • Accountant of the Year - Senior Manager/Associate Director (Boutique; Mid-size; Large/Institutional)
