Chairwoman - Karen Jones

Karen founded Citywealth after a career at News International, The Times, and Sunday Times in the legal, financial and recruitment sections. She also ran the Legalease flagship title Legal Business/Asia Pacific Legal 500, and launched Legal Business Awards and Legal 500 parties. Karen then took over In Brief magazine, where she grew the organisation from a buyout where it had gone bankrupt to a successful £500,000-a-year publishing and events business. Her work as a Citywealth CEO was recognised by four New York Stevie Awards: Women helping women (2014, 2015), Innovator of the year (2015), and Entrepreneur of the year (2015).

Neil Hoolahan
Grant Thornton
Director, Tax

Neil is a Director in the Guernsey tax team and specialises in Offshore Trust and Company tax advisory and compliance services. He was named as Citywealth Future Leaders - Accountant of the Year 2018. At present Neil is working on a number of large restructuring engagements following the recently announced widespread changes to the taxation of non domiciled individual resident in the UK. Neil also leads our tax information exchange service line and has a deep understanding of the US FATCA and OECD Common Reporting Standard.

Robert Paul

Partner - US Family Office

Robert is a Partner at London & Capital. He provides wealth and investment advice to US-connected private client families and trusts. He specialises in advising families on the structure and asset allocation of their investments within the complex tax regime of the US. Robert has the Diploma for Financial Advisers, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. In 2016, 2017 and 2018 Robert was named ‘Top Recommended’ for international clients in the Top 50 High Net Worth Wealth Manager section of the Spears 500 index and was named in PAM’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ in 2018.

Michelle Tring

Associate Director

Michelle is an Associate Director and oversees the private client team based in Jersey. Michelle has over 16 years of experience in providing fiduciary services to both private and corporate clients, working with a wealth of different structures including employee benefit trusts and pensions, as well as wealth structures including trusts, private trust companies and foundations. Michelle moved to Jersey in 2002 to pursue a career in finance and has spent the majority of her career on the island, with the exception of a two-year period where she worked in Grand Cayman, specifically managing a portfolio of structures for predominantly Latin American clients. In her current role, Michelle and her team are responsible for managing a large portfolio of private client structures which span numerous jurisdictions and consist of a number of specialised structures with a variety of assets including artwork, property, investment portfolios , family companies and publicly quoted shares. The team pride themselves on providing a very high standard of service to each of their clients. Michelle achieved the Bronze award in 2018 for Inspirational Individual with Citywealth. She holds a BSc Honours degree in Business Management and has achieved the ICSA Diploma. She is currently working towards an MSc in International Finance.

Paul Rondel

Paul Rondel is a Senior Manager for First Names Group in Jersey. He always sets, expects and delivers a high standard of work. His attention to detail, including risk management and commercial practicalities, gives his clients and colleagues exceptional peace of mind. Known for his considered input and quick response, he can always be relied on to get things right first time. Having completed a BTEC Advanced Business Certificate, Paul signed up with a top accounting firm in Jersey where he gained a comprehensive understanding of financial records and reporting. Rounding out his education he spent four years at a legal firm. He joined the Group in 2008 bringing his methodical research capabilities and excellent communication skills to the table. Paul continues to develop his knowledge base and is now an Associate of ICSA: The Governance Institute. When dealing with his clients he always provides a strong technical knowledge on legal, accounting and taxation issues.

Charlie Sosna

Charlie is a Partner in Mishcon Private's Tax and Wealth Planning team. His main practice areas are: UK and international tax; trusts; asset protection structuring; and lifetime planning for high-net and ultra-high net worth individuals, families and their trustees. Charlie frequently advises clients on their residence and domicile status, and advises on effective tax planning. He has been described as someone who offers 'high quality reliable advice, excellent client manner - a joy to work with', and who has 'a clear understanding of tax issues arising for private clients and identifies practical solutions'. Charlie is a member of Mishcon de Reya's multi-disciplinary Luxury Assets Group, which advises individuals and businesses on the buying, selling, structuring and protection of luxury assets including art, cars and other high-value collectables across the globe. In 2014 Charlie passed with distinction the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients. Recommended by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, in 2018 he was named 'One to Watch' in Private Client Global Elite guide by Legal Week and recognised in eprivateclient's list of the Top 35 private client practitioners under 35 in 2012 and 2014.
