John is a consultant at Farrer & Co LLP having retired as a partner and head of tax in April of this year. He continues to advise international clients of the Firm on their UK tax affairs. These include non-doms and also those taking up the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility (whose terms he played a part in negotiating on behalf of Liechtenstein).

He is also a consultant to the Channel Island law firm Mourant Ozannes, working with their private client team in Guernsey.

He has homes in the UK and in Alderney in the Channel Islands.
