Impetus increases charity’s income by 69%

 Impetus invested in NPL in 2005, and over a four year period has provided it with: £175,000 of core funding; an additional £100,000 of co-investment from Charities Aid Foundation; hands-on management support, and pro bono expertise from skilled professionals valued at £279,000. As a result, NPL’s annual income has increased by 69 per cent, from £0.51m in 2005 to £0.86m in 2009.  NPL has also increased the number of people with HIV it helps each year by from 250 to over 600, and it is now working with more than 10 London primary care trusts. Teams get into pole position for RNLI’s Ross Brawn Lifeboat Challenge

Brawn, winner of the Formula 1 Constructors and Drivers championships 2009 and now Team Principal of the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS Formula 1 Team, says: ‘This is a ground-breaking challenge which pits some of the UK’s top companies against each other to raise funds for a new lifeboat. The Launch of “Sport Solidarity for Haiti”

Collecting sports equipment is the number one priority. The objective is to collect footballs, taekwondo kimonos and judo suits, handball balls, basketballs, rugby balls, gym mats, volleyballs, badminton kits, tennis kits, athletics equipment (hurdles, markers, long jump boards), whistles, stopwatches and board games. In liaison with the HOC, Peace and Sport will contact global sports governing bodies, major sports clubs, professional leagues and international companies to collect donations of sports equipment (new or used), to coordinate sending sports trainers to Haiti and to encourage financial donations.
